“great city choice”

Loved the hotel, very quirky. loved the extra living space and jack and jill separate toilet. very quiet location, short walk to city centre. lovey breakfast choice, with a dining area that felt like we were at a friends home. honesty bar and snacks. friendly staff

The styling of this hotel is great - industrial hipster. The staff were really helpful and friendly. And the breakfast good value and nicely done with plenty of choice. The whole thing was unfortunately let down by a pretty uncomfortable bed and sofa in the room - both really hard and not design… more

Great location. One block from main shopping center with a large Edeka for grocery shopping and affordable water. Two blocks from main train station or the bus line. Hotel is a bit quirky and outdated. Layout is strange. Staff are friendly but tend to be very busy as they run the lobby, bar, and dining area. Practically everything was at a cost, but affordable for a hotel. A large, homemade cookie for example would be €2. Hotel has a small gym with one treadmill, one elliptical and one stationary bike. But all equipment was clean and new. There’s a water fountain so bring your own reusable bottle to hydrate. Hotel offers keys to the one washer and dryer where you pay €5 for one wash and one dry. You keep key as long as you need it, which is great as you can do your laundry on your own timing. Will definitely come here again for location. As a hotel, it’s a little strange - more like you’re visiting someone’s house.

Just an overnight rest stop en route north and I think I’d have plumbed for a cheaper option, like the Bismarck opposite the station, but he thinks he’s worth it and books Henri without consulting. I’m cynical about Corporate Hotel PLC, how they’ve created a look to appeal to cooler people. Last night’s hotel in Frankfurt had records (vinyl to Gen Zs), in frames everywhere. Henri, being in an austere red brick warehouse of a building with an entrance in a canyon-like street which blokes our mobile signals, opts to adopt a 1940s retro appeal, which works well. Fake Bakelite light switches, retro images from magazines and just enough modernity to stop it being a museum piece like the Stazi headquarters in Berlin. Our reception worker speaks rapidly, little eye contact and fails to acknowledge my husband’s deafness is not getting him anywhere. I politely elaborate and enunciate where necessary and the job of checking in is done. Minimal staff, so help yourself, mark your purchases on a Sheet and hand it to reception to be added to your room bill. It’s like a self checkout in Tesco. Our room 208 on the 2nd floor is nice, it overlooks a building site, which will probably be like that for a good 18 months. It’ll be a new hotel. The drilling and excavating is annoying. The noise stops about 5pm and resumes about 7.30am, it’s a comfortable bed and we sleep well. Breakfast looks good but again, it’s laid out to look good, not practical. I can’t find anything and look as confused as Joe Biden at a press conference. Overall, it’s overpriced for a hotel that requires you to do as much as it does.
