This is an unusual one to review. It’s an older style building that classifies itself as 4 * situated in a quiet, almost residential, street just outside Hamburg Airport. However, I would re-classify it as a 3* hotel with a 4* restaurant. It’s very close to Hamburg Airport - that is why we stayed there. It’s somewhat cheaper than other hotels at the airport (or those nearer the city centre!) and so is popular with lay-over aircraft crew. There is a regular and free minibus shuttle bus on call - just call the hotel on +49 40 531020 from the airport and ask for the shuttle transfer. Great service. It’s low rise, 2/3 story’s max and at first glance resembles somebodies large house! It’s not cheap, by any means, but it’s cheaper than most other branded hotels around Hamburg. We needed handy airport access so it was ideal for us. Our room (265) was quiet but smallish and not carpeted but had most things required for a brief stay. Any longer stay would mean a larger room hunt but for us, on for this 2 night trip, it was ok at the price. Good AC, average free wireless internet ( a decent speed and thus better stability apparently requires payment), plenty of power points (but no USB sockets so bring an adapter), comfy bed and a bathroom/shower with most amenities. No slippers or bath robes though. Oh - and no concierge or porterage is available . Another thing, they give you in the room “one bottle of mineral water per stay”. Therefore, if you want more than one bottle, it is implied that you had better book each single day’s stay separately. It’s the same with soap - we used our one tiny bar on day one and then our own thereafter. Otherwise staff were all friendly and welcoming and very helpful to us. Anton, in particular, was extremely helpful and was a great help to me when I lost my wallet. The Horizon restaurant was simply excellent in every way. Well worth a visit. Marvellous food and an excellent wine list, all topped up by truly excellent service from Stavros. Ok - it’s probably a bit expensive if you are only going for a quick meal! However, at breakfast in the same restaurant, serving staff were a bit grumpy and non-“smiley”. Pity - we do so like smiling happy people in the morning. Apart from that the breakfast was fine - buffet+ as I call it but they did not have a working plate warmer for their hot food - something most hotels forget. A final tip - there is a large shopping mall about 15 minutes walk away - go out the front door, turn left on the main road and then immediately left again at the traffic light. Then a 15 minute walk towards the rail station and you will find a large mall where most of your retail needs can be met. Would we stay again? Probably not as the circumstances of this visit will not be repeated. Apart from that, it’s a pretty reasonable hotel for a short stay.

Highly recommended for short stays, close to the airport and they also provide free shuttle form and to the airport. Room is small but has everything you need. Staff are helpful and supportive for anything you need. The only thing we didn’t like is that the bar is open to the reception so it gets crowded and smelly when the e bar is open.

“Great airport hotel”

This was our second stay at Courtyard. We called for the complimentary shuttle and it was at the airport within 5 minutes. Check-in was easy and the clerk was very friendly. Our room was nicely decorated and clean. Bed and mattress were great. Hotel is located near a local neighborhood so we were able to walk to a nearby restaurant for dinner. Would recommend this hotel to anyone needing an airport hotel.

Stayed at this hotel for the first time in Feb this year for 4 nights while on business. The hotel is in a great location and the courtesy bus from the airport is a great service. The hotel is nice and on arrival the staff were very friendly and helpful and I stayed in room 209. The rooms are fully equipped with everything you could need, clean and well presented. Breakfast was not included in the price however I did eat breakfast on 3 of the mornings and they had everything you could want and also provide fresh eggs cooked any way you like. The staff throughout the stay were helpful and I would stay here again and recommend to others.

“Cold and damp ”

15 January, freezing and no heating on, was not a good start to our overnight stay. The wall had visible damp in the corner. maybe it should be look at . Our room was nice the bed was perfect as we had a very early flight we were to exhausted to compain .
