“Lunch at the restaurant Benders, great pizzas”

We had pizzas for lunch which we can highly recommend, 58 euros for 4 pizzas some sodas, a beer and an aperol :-) Only downside was that the sun suddenly came through the clouds and the we had picked a table without an umbrella.

“Difficult to find anything to complain about”

We are a family of 4 and spent 3 days in this wonderful hotel. We came to ski but with the weather being warm and snow melting away we were given an opportunity to enjoy the facilities of hotel even more. A beautiful, spacious and comfortable wellness area to relax in after hours on the wet ski tracks. A restaurant serving excellent and ample food, both breakfast and evening. Clean, functional rooms with balcony and good views. The hotel, which is family owned, oozes of history and atmosphere and blandc & white photostats on the walls depict how this hotel has been at the centerpiece of the Hahnenklee mountain resort since people started coming here for recreation 150 years ago. It is easy to find and located smack in the middle of tiny Hahnenklee just 200 m from the ski lifts and a large selection of restaurants of different quality, size and ethnicity. We cannot give 5 stars because of three minor issues: 1. the internet connection in the rooms was not stable 2. the pillows were too voluminous to secure a good night's sleep and 3. the massage capacity of the wellness center was insufficient to cover the demand and we were lucky to secure two treatments over 3 days only. None of these issues will, however, prevent us from coming back for another stay at his nice hotel.

We had a nice stay indeed. The location of the hotel is nice, and so is the suite we had. We had some situations where the staff were really inpolite to us (for example a lady at the restuarant yelled at us for sitting down at the table that the other waiter gave to us). Actually we had inpolite experiences in the area in general a few times. We felt that tourists (and espeacially non german speaking) were sometimes not treated very polite.

“A very German Hotel on the edge of the Harz Mountains”

Stayed here for six nights with coach party. A small hotel in the village of Hanenklee. Nothing to do in the village, maybe a few longs walks but that's all. Nice area. You need transport to get about. There is a bus service into Goslar. Well run hotel, very clean, and the food adequate for a budge coach party. Saturday, staff are stretched while attending to locals at their weekly outside barbeque. I do understand. Locals are there all the year round. Guests must be patient while waiting for their beer and wine. Some guests complained of noise from the health suite at night. something to do with pumping water. I thought it a very good spa and used it after a days site seeing. Ask for a room away from that area if available. Peter M
