“A charming place to return to over and over”

It is truly a delight to stay at this most charming hotel. We used to stay in town over the years of visiting Frankfurt, and a couple of years ago decided to stay here. We fell in love with the hotel and chose to stay again during our short stay at the end of a 3 week travel in Switzerland. Once again, the hotel did not disappoint. Staff is wonderful, the room was spectacular (Johann Wolfgang suite because we loved it so much), and the breakfast in the Winter garden room was lovely. We were even able to entertain our friends in the living room after dinner. And the Riverview from the balcony is great.

“Serene yet luxurious ”
We had booked a room here based on find memories of the fine restaurant, and ended up having to arrive four days early. My husband took ill so I needed a room while he was getting treated in Hanau. We had booked a room here based on find memories of the fine restaurant, and ended up having to arrive four days early. My husband took ill so I needed a room while he was getting treated in Hanau. The gentleman who assisted in getting us accommodated before our schedules stay went above and beyond. He actually manages the restaurant, and was super diligent and kind to arrange our stay. Upon arrival, he remembered me due to the specifics and helped me with public transportation tickets. When I was moved to our booked room later, I was flabbergasted. It was the entire 3rd floor. Views are great and the patio for afternoon coffee is super. Breakfasts are lovely in in the wintergarten, and all of the staff are just wonderful! The walk to the city is beautiful but trams are not too far away.

In the past, we have always stayed near the train station or the airport for early train ride or flight home. This time, we tried Gerbermuehle, which is about 40 euros by taxi from the airport but about 20 minutes. The hotel is a mix of original old building and new additions architecturally designed. It is not large, and it is not near shops or many eateries. But it is on the river bank and has quite wonderful food served in either the winter garden or the summer terrace. So, if you need a change from functional or modern hotels, try Gerbermuehle.

Disappointing! No hand gel, body lotion or conditioner provided, no decent size towels for showering, no tea making facilities and limited coffee provided. Disappointing! No hand gel, body lotion or conditioner provided, no decent size towels for showering, no tea making facilities and limited coffee provided. Breakfast basic, boiled eggs seemed like they’d been reheated and not freshly boiled. Staff not particularly friendly. Only plus was (1) location which makes a pleasant walk along the Main into town (although not good if you’re looking for easy transport links into central) and (2) the view from room 25 over the Main and the Frankfurt skyline. Not good value for money, wouldn’t stay here again!

“good hotel but needs a bit of a refurbishment in the rooms”
nice location, nice staff, some excellent food in the adjoining restaurant and a cigar bar available. location is excellent for in and out of airport as well as walking along the river. the room was ok but had a funny smell and looked like it could have used some significant refurbishment.
