“Pleasantly surprised”
Stayed here whilst visiting for the Christmas markets. If you’re looking for top quality, all bells and whistles then this isn’t the place for you. Stayed here whilst visiting for the Christmas markets. If you’re looking for top quality, all bells and whistles then this isn’t the place for you. We booked it as a base and I must say I was pleasantly surprised. We didn’t expect a lot to be honest but it was a lovely place. We had a family room which was adequate for what we needed. It was clean, the beds were comfortable, there was ample space for our things, the bathroom was clean. It’s only a bed a breakfast but the choice at breakfast was plentiful, something for everyone and enough to set you up for the day. The staff were lovely, chatty, welcoming and very helpful. The hotel itself was in a good location, we had no noise issues. All in all we were very happy and enjoyed our stay

“OK hotel”
The hotel was OK. Old style carpets and furnishings. The room was functional, smallish double bed, shower and tv was OK. No kettle in room or refreshments. Breakfast was fine. Staff were OK, some were friendly and polite, others didn't look up or greet you. Waited 30mins on arrival to be seen and c… more
The hotel was OK. Old style carpets and furnishings. The room was functional, smallish double bed, shower and tv was OK. No kettle in room or refreshments. Breakfast was fine. Staff were OK, some were friendly and polite, others didn't look up or greet you. Waited 30mins on arrival to be seen and check in. Location was good. Overall fine hotel when you are only using it to sleep.

“An enjoyable break ”
I was a bit concerned after reading some reviews, it's a basic b&b , the rooms were comfortable & clean. I was a bit concerned after reading some reviews, it's a basic b&b , the rooms were comfortable & clean. Always hot water for a shower the bathroom was a bit on the small side but we were only there for 3 nights visiting the Christmas markets. We would of liked the heating too been on more as it was chilly after being out all day when we got back . Our biggest issue was no tea/ coffee making facilities,that was an oversight by us . It would have been nice to get a hot drink at the end of the day with at least 1 English channel on the TV . Staff were friendly, especially the chap on reception Johan , very helpful giving us a map pointing out all the markets plus his English was excellent which certainly helped. Breakfast was sufficient just Continental but we liked it . Maybe tea & coffee self service available during the day/ evening should be considered. Overall we had a lovely time in cologne.
