“Good hotel for the money”

I had an overnight stay at this hotel and the room was a nice size with a large bath & toilet. I only used the restaurant for breakfast, but it was a good breakfast with a great selection. The waiters were very service minded. And it is a hotel I will visit again.

STayed 2 nights at Galerie Design hotel while on a business trip. The check-in was quick and easy, the room was nice big, and clean, with a proper bathroom and great shower. It was the start of the week, so it was quiet, and the heavy curtains provided a good cover from the bright hot sun and allowed for a good night's sleep. All the staff was nice and helpful, and it was nice to have a cool drink in the garden in the evening after a hot day. The breakfast was probably the weak point of the service, the selection wasn't too bad, but it was fairly basic. As the hotel was close to our destination, it provided a positive experience.

We stayed for 3 nights. Arrival and check-on were good and the rooms were really nice and clean. A bit noisy with respect to other rooms but not a major concern. Location was perfect for our needs in the northern part of Bonn. Unfortunately the breakfast was a big fail. We explicitly reserved and checked after our check-in for a breakfast reservation for us plus additional family guest to enjoy a nice breakfast to start our day of family celebration. Even though the reservation was confirmed, the restaurant staff had no idea about our reservation when we showed up in the morning. The buffet was very close to all-empty, so it didn't really matter that there were no dishes either. We had to request every bit of the buffet to be re-filled individually - which happened rather slowly. Considering a price of 19€ per person the delivered buffet and service was simply unacceptable. On the plus side - the few things we did get were tasty and there is a nice and cheap bakery close by...

Firstly my room was quite large and the design was modern.I liked the large bathroom. The wifi signal was strong and fast. The hotel is close to the autobahn and 25 minutes easy walking distance to the centre.The reception staff were very helpful and friendly. The pool is quite good and there's a good sauna and ok steam room. The fitness room is adequate. I was disappointed that my family room was simply a double with a z- bed dropped in the middle of the floor. There is limited, but frequently available street parking. Garage parking is available for 12 euros per night. Now the bad things. The standard of housekeeping is very poor. My carpet was dirty/stained and needed vacuumed. My 5 year old child got some chocolate on the sheets on the first night. Luckily it was only chocolate, because bed sheets weren't changed during our 3 night stay. What really really really annoyed me, was that I had left my second key in the power slot,although nothing was switched on. Key card immediately removed from the room by housekeeping, never to be seen again. BUT wet towels left on floor to be changed, just roughly hung back up and shower gel and shampoo not replenished in 3 nights. Room never vacuumed, and used glasses not replaced or cleaned. The 19 euro limited choice breakfast isn't worth half. There was lots of random types of tea,but no basic black breakfast tea. Second day we brought our own tea to find there was no hot water! A real WTF moment! Also we were made to share a table for 2 with 3, because staff couldn't be bothered to set a new table for us at 0845. At the same time plenty tables were reserved for guests,clearly more important than us. Due to the negative breakfast experience and terrible housekeeping, I didn't spend an extra cent in the bar or restaurant and can't comment on either. To sum up, this hotel could be very good, but poor housekeeping and the limited and expensive breakfast ruined my stay and I will not return. I stay on average 50 nights a year in German hotels due to business, so feel qualified to leave this critical review.
