Location of hotel good despite not being actually on Alexanderplatz. Leonardo Royal Berlin Alexanderplatz Otto Braun Straße 90 | 10249 Berlin | Germany ("From the Airport you can the the express train to get to Ostbahnhof. ( We returned on the R8) There you must change into the S-Train S3, S5 or S7 to get to the station Alexanderplatz. After that please change into the streetcar Nr. M4 to the direction Falkenberg/Zingster Strasse to get to the station “Am Friedrichshain”. From there the walking distance to our hotel will be 5 minutes from the Tram station. ") On the M4 tram line. From the airport, go to Barnorpf rail station and at Alexandreplatz go on the M4 tram towards Falkenberg/Zingster ( approx 3 or 4 stops) and its best to go past it (you will see it on the right hand side from the tram) and then walk the few steps back to the hotel. We had a room overlooking the courtyard on the 3rd floor and slept well. Good shower, comfy beds and was cleaned daily. Coffee pod machine in the room plus safe and a fridge and they kindly supplied tea and a kettle for us tea drinkers so we bought a bottle of milk from nearby Aldi. Breakfast was outstanding in its range of offerings and constantly replenished. Well recommended. Hotel gave us a card giving 15% off total your restaurant meal. Sadly we only ate one bar meal which did not qualify. We managed the tram, bus, Underground and main line railway networks. Our Berlin Pass was probably cost effective as we visited many paid for attractions but the list of free entry sites is very wide Note. Also used it at Las Malvinas steak house nearby! Visitors maps are freely available but getting one listing the main visitor attractions coupled with the nearest tram and underground connections would have been most useful. Signage in Berlin nowhere near as good as the signage in London. Best to note the END of the line station every journey as confirming direction of travel. We used Google Maps a lot. Street names are only displayed at street junctions. Visited 15-18th October 2024, a mild few days weather wise and found the room quite warm so did not touch the room controls.

“Clean, modern and friendly”

Myself and my friends visited Berlin for the first time this week and stayed here for 3 nights. The hotel lobby gives a great first impression; it’s absolutely beautiful and the staff on reception were warm and welcoming. The rooms were clean, cosy and had lovely comfortable beds. We had front facing rooms and despite trams going past every few minutes, we did not hear any noise. The shower and water pressure is excellent. The wellness centre and gym is an added bonus. Great service in the bar and restaurant! The distance to the main square of Alexanderplatz is about 10 minutes and we didn’t mind the walk. Alternatively, the tram stops outside the hotel and is very easy to use. Thankyou!

“Great location”

Great location with a tram stop a few minutes away. Clean room although a little bit too cosy: there wasnt anywhere to put our suitcase when it was open except for on the bed. Friendly staff, good selection of drinks & food at the bar and restaurant.

“Arrived late evening after long journey from Glasgow to be greeted by dour unwelcoming reception staff”

Arrived around 10 pm. Reception staff not welcoming. Given room with single beds not double, not told at reception. Too late to get food food, kitchen closed at 10 pm. Paid 120 euros for breakfast for two for three days, breakfast average and crowded free for all first morning.
