“Highly recommend”
The atmosphere of this hotel was perfect. The bartender Minder was absolutely amazing and made our short trip even better. Cannot recommend this hotel enough. Friendly, helpful staff and our room was beautiful. The location was easy to find and it was easy getting to public transport. 10/10

“Ideal location and great value!”
Stayed here for a long weekend seeing the sights that Berlin has to offer along with the Christmas markets. Great hotel, ideally located and with lovely, helpful staff. Room was huge and, importantly, with a great powerful shower. Definitely recommend if you’re visiting Berlin.

Overall, this is a great hotel and we enjoyed our 3 nights there in early December. Catalina Mitte is located slightly off the centre of the city and there is not much to see or do in the immediate vicinity of the hotel itself but it is only a 30 second walk to the nearest subway station which is only 2 stops away from Alexanderplatz and that is right in the middle of everything. The hotel's reception / lounge / bar / restaurant area is imaginatively and creatively decorated in what I suppose you might call "modern industrial" style - open ceilings with exposed wiring and heating ducts, concrete pillars painted with random matt black patches, etc. It all works very well and is comfortable, welcoming and warm (which you need in Berlin winter weather!). Our room was nice with an enormous and very comfortable bed and all the usual facilities. It was located at the back of the hotel on the top floor so the view was that of a car park but it didn't really matter as the whole point of a city break is to get out and see the city not the hotel room! The breakfast was really, really good. A huge choice of cooked and cold food, all fresh and beautifully presented. There is a chef on hand with a hot plate who spends his time preparing fantastic omelettes with fillings of your choice in between making wonderful small cakes which are available as soon as they have cooled. The only "issue" we had was with the food available in the evening if you didn't fancy going out to eat. A very limited choice and, on the basis of what my wife and I selected, not very good. My wife's margaritta pizza was a lukewarm piece of rather unappealing dough covered in a thin layer of tasteless cheese with no sign of tomato or any other ingredients. My spaghetti carbonara was very dry and there was no evidence of any cream at all in its preparation. All a long way from the glossy meals being shown on the video screen in reception and rather puzzling when you consider the quality of the breakfast. Nevertheless, we would have no hesitation in recommending Catalina Mitte as long as you are happy with going out to eat in the evenings.

A good hotel, clean and well located. If arriving from the airport I recommend the S9 train which takes you direct to Jannowitzbrücke, a 5 minutes walk away. There’s an underground opposite so you can chop and change but I just found this easiest, and much cheaper than a 45 euro Uber. It’s about 4.10 euro for a single fare. The hotel was well located, 20-30 minute walk to most landmarks and a few minutes to some nice cafes and food places. The only downside was we found the room too warm and the air con didn’t really work. We resorted to opening the window but be prepared for all the noise. We were facing into the hotel courtyard and were woken by people coming back in at up to 5am and being selfishly loud, shouting and carrying on. There’s a lot of bin noise etc too. Other than that a great little hotel.
