“Convenient Location”

A very functional hotel with very nice rooms. Breakfast options were very good. Staff efficient and helpful. Location is at Potsdam Platz and very convenient for public transportation. A brief walk to the Brandberg Gate and other attractions.

Front Desk Service: Upon arrival, I was greeted by a rather unfriendly front desk staff, which was a disappointing start. However, all other hotel staff were fantastic—warm, friendly, and always with a smile. They truly made up for the initial cold reception. Breakfast: The breakfast buffet was a standout. It was expansive and offered a great variety of international options, including Middle Eastern (lentil soup, hummus, and grilled veggies), Asian (kimchi, dim sum), as well as more traditional European fare (German breads, British baked beans). The müseli was excellent, and the marinated plums were exceptional. I also appreciated the nice nut and seed selection. The property has their own bees on the roof top that produce the honey for the breakfast buffet. The Berlin Marriott kitchen team does an amazing job! Room: My room was spacious and airy, which I really liked. However, the temperature in the room is controlled by the hotel, it was 71 degrees F, a bit warmer than I would like for sleeping, and the window only opened slightly, making it hard to cool down. The room also had a strong perfume scent that gave me a headache. On a positive note, I appreciated the thinner duvet, which worked better given the warmth of the room. Shower: The shower was good, but unfortunately, the design of the half glass panel led to water splashing all over the floor, which was frustrating. The hand towels were well-placed, though, and the hallway windows were open, providing a nice flow of fresh air throughout the hotel. Executive Lounge: The executive lounge is conveniently located just off the breakfast area and is spacious. The lounge is a great spot to unwind, and the staff there were very nice, offering good appetizers. One downside was the piano music they played at breakfast, which felt out of place and a bit too loud, with pounding key strokes that became annoying after a while. The hotel is spacious and has a and good overall flow.

The room was relatively spacious. It’s very central - a short walk to tube station, restaurants and cafes around, a Christmas Market just across the station, and a 10-minute walk to Point Charlie and Brandenburger Gate. The room was not big. Our room looked at an office building. The night light was automatically on in the toilet. The shower switch required some force to turn it on, and it’s particularly difficult when my hand was wet. The auto-temperature was ok, and there was enough power sockets for all my chargers. Everything work without surprise.
