We came across this hotel, through the hotels listed on AMEX. Stayed there for 3 nights. It was nice. Comfortable & spacious rooms, well maintained & located close to the city centre. The hotel is located at a 5 minutes walking distance to the "Hop-On Hop-Off" excursion centre. Very convenient! They offer a sumptuous breakfast. The same is inclusive in the tariff. Front desk was helpful with regard to information required on public transport & sight seeing. The only hitch was that, they accept ONLY cash & the same has to be remitted at the time of check-in (If not fully, a part of the amount - mostly 50%). They do not accept Credit Cards or Debit Cards. So, be prepared! They offer special check-in & check-out facilities. Parking is quite a tricky thing. Its at an extra cost. Overall experience was nice. Nothing negative to pick & mention about.

Location is really nice, just few minuit KaDeWe and Ku'Dam. Zoologish station ab 10min walk, u-bahn 5min (U2 main line and U1). Room its ok size and furnished looks pretty new everything. We, a group of four canadian friends, stayed at the Amaryl city hotel for three nights starting on new years eve 2014 until the 3rd of January 2015. The staff were very kind to us and helpful at all hours, even when the shower head in one of the rooms broke (the nail that held it together rusted through). Overall very friendly staff, exept for the visibly stressed management. We enjoyed our time in Berlin and at the hotel. A small minus points was that every extra person in your room automatically results in an upcharge, making it very epensive if you meet someone in the city and want to spend some time in your room with them. We were not accustomed to this from other hostels and a bit disappointed about it. The other small minus point was that we forgot to pay our "upfront" charge on time, being very unaccustomd to this and not having german bank accounts that would have made this possible. We were threatened with losing the rooms, and eventually found a solution by transferring the upfront money through a bank without actually having an account there. This was difficult to do during the christmas season. Despite our efforts, our joint rooms were given away and we had to make do with single rooms (more expesnive in total). An understandable response since we didnt realise we had to pay that much upfront and failed to get the payment in on time. Perhaps the management would have been less stressed if their terms and conditions were not so complicated, especially at a busy time like new years. THis being Germany and all, these two minor points are probably just culture shock and apart from them we had a great time and the staff were very friendly. I recommend this hotel, but if you choose it, be sure to read the terms and conditions carefully beforehand and make sure you can meet the upfront payment conditions. If you do that, and carefully document any broken things in your rooms immediately upon arrival, you should be just fine. And the bar in the lobby is open 24-7, making a great place to get warmed up before heading out for a night of fun on the town! A realy great location!!
