“Easter weekend in Berlin”

Lovely clean hotel in a quiet are good bus service right outside the front door and very friendly staff taxies from the main tube station was very cheep the only down side was nothing or no shops where open on Easter weekend around the hotel

My Wife and I stayed here for the 3 nights we were in Berlin. The staff are very nice at this hotel, every question we had morning or evening was always politely answered. It is in a very peaceful area of Berlin and although it is around 25 minutes to the city, the tram and bus are very very close. We also received a complementary bottle of water and beside chocolate on our first night which was a nice touch. If the city centre is too much for you this is absolutely a great alternative!

Firstly the hotel is connected to the church, in the room you get a Bible in German and books of inspiration. Unless you want to do the religion side of things this is really as much as you will see of the church. The hotel is very nice, not all the staff speak English, however we got by with our limited German language. The room was big and clean, the shower was amazing. There was a safe to put your belongings and a wardrobe. To get into central Berlin we used all the local public transport. From hotel door to Alexanderplatz was around 25 mins. Outside the hotel is a bus stop which will take you to the U and S Bahn (Pankow) alternatively the tram stop is at the end of the road, approx 3 minutes walk, the end destination the same. We didn't walk to the U or S Bahn, but it can be done, I would imagine it would take approx 30 mins. The couple of things that were not so good, was it smelled in the corridor to our room and in our room like stale cigarettes, this is a non smoking hotel. Also the WiFi is very patchy, the only place it really works is reception area. Also the hotel is just under the flight path from Tegel Airport, but the flights seem to stop overnight. Overall I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to go to Berlin and not pay central Berlin prices. There is free parking at the hotel, a 1 day travel card costs 7euro to travel on all public transport. I would also like to add that the breakfast is very good, lots of options.

Hotel was in a quiet street in leafy Pankow. Great if you want to be outside the city. Very little traffic noise. Spotlessly clean and modern although rather functional without much atmosphere. Seemed to be part of a larger senior citizens complex! Room was OK but rather characterless. Staff were very efficient and helpful. Breakfast plentiful and good value. Bus stop right next door - buses every 10 minutes during the day to the Pankow U and S Bahn. 25 mins door to door to central Berlin. Hotel recommended some nice restaurants nearby. Small honesty bar in the reception area on the ground floor but the bar was a bit clinical. Negative points quite a basic hotel with not many facilities. No tea and coffee in the rooms.On the flight path from Tegel airport but reasonably good sound insulation. Wifi in the room was intermittent but OK in reception area.
