“Beautiful Resort with everything you need”

Winding and winding up the mountain until we saw our first glimpse of the hotel was just a taste of the views we would enjoy for the next 5 days. Upon arrival, we were promptly greeted by a bellman who directed us to the front desk. When I walked into the lobby, I was in awe of the views from the floor-to-ceiling, wall-to-wall picture window in front of me. We stayed in the two-story maisonette suite. This suite is unique because you have views from the front and the back of your room. One balcony faces one set of mountains and you can see the Eagles Nest out of the other side. The resort is very secluded with nothing else in the immediate area to walk to for food, groceries, etc. We rented a car so this was not a problem to get down the mountain for anything we needed. With that said, we didn't need much at this hotel. There are plenty of food options, we ate at the resort almost all 5 days. My only critique is the lack of self-service laundry. They have a service but it takes a while to come back. I think they might have a same-day option but if I recall it was not worth the price. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the resort spending time at the pool, and hiking around the areas directly outside. If interested in WW2 history, you can walk about 10 mins to the documentation center and bunkers are all around. Some of the hotel grounds are built right around the homes of very prominent leaders. Also, you can walk to the location of the bus stop for the Eagles Nest from the hotel. The activities coordinators were great and eager to help us plan our itinerary. They gave us many options and suggestions to get the most of our trip.

I stayed during the last weekend of September. Arrival Arrived outside the hotel, the welcome was warm and professional. They take care of my car, explained the parking possibilities and I had already the feeling to be in safe hands, After 6 hours drive a very good start. Check-in/Check-out The hall is huge and a perfect combination of tradition and modernity, the smiling people at the desk were also professional, fast, uncomplicated and explained very well the hotel facilities. The check-out was quick: a small good-bye gift from the region could not miss, very appreciated. My car was already outside the hotel, it was not necessary to ask. The knew it already. Customer care at high level. Room Since I went for dinner first, my luggage has been delivered there. A welcome letters, hand-written was on the table with home-made chocolates. Waters, Coffee from Nepresso are for free and a feeling of being home. The spaces are perfectly divided for business needs, relax and the night. Nice view to the forest and mountains around! Bar and Lounge This is absolutely, by far, the heart of the Kempisky Hotel Berchtesgaden! You come into the hotel and you can not miss it: you feel that it could be something special. The Bar Manager Sam Saha and his Team (e.g. Iago) are capable to serve the high number of guests, without a feeling of stress: what they deliver is incredible, probably due to a perfect organization “behind the scene”. I have been in many hotels and bars worldwide, but what I have experienced from Sam Saha is a total another level. Sam is not only the bar manager, but a world class Mixologist, able to meet the needs of all guest, creating a cocktails and drinks “out of nowhere” just listening to the wishes of the person in front of him. To watch Sam works, it is like a Formula 1 race: power, precision, speed, emotions, technique, passion, performance and……at the end THE WIN for the guest! His dress’s style is unique and the best ambassador of a modern host, what we expect all the time. Restaurant Dinner/Breakfast The breakfast is incredible, offering a variety that can meet every taste. The start in the morning is really a pleasure, there is no stress, and the view is a plus. I had dinner twice in the Restaurant Johann Grill. The staff is extremely friendly and pays attention to the need of the guests. The food is delicious and the very well presented, so that you can also eat “with the eyes”. I met the hotel manager Mr. Müller and his team, always taking care of the guest, positive attitude, exchanging some words and taking time for the guests. Well done! Spa/ Fitness Room This area can be improved, too small for the size of the hotel, other hotels offer more, also from the style point of view. But a project is in the pipeline in the next times.
