The Renaissance Aix-en-Provence is a great hotel, and very close to all of the cafes and shopping in Aix. The service was wonderful right from check in to check out. The Front Desk staff is welcoming and get you into the room quickly. The concierges I met there, Melvin and Saif were extraordinary. Both knew the city very well and made great recommendations.

“Solid option in Aix”
Close enough to the center of town to walk - but a bit far if walking from the train station with luggage (and in the rain). Comfortable beds. Quiet rooms. Good breakfast (if a bit harried with other guests rushing around to grab their choices). Helpful staff.

We stayed at this hotel for a week while we traveled to different parts of Provence. It is kind of on the outskirts of Aix but still walkable into town which we did many times for dinner or tours. It is not a 5 star luxurious hotel but it is very comfortable and clean and the staff was extremely helpful. We had to abandon our car at the last minute and they were very helpful with finding drivers for us last minute as well as helping with the broken down car situation.

Great, smooth check-in by lovely, efficient receptionist, sorry missed her name. Delicious breakfast with fresh juice, egg station, warm pastries etc. Room was good with modern bathroom and walk in shower. Would have thought there would be usb points for chargers as had forgotten adapters, however, reception lent me one so not a big issue. We liked the pool area, never had to fight for sun beds or towels; my only comment is that access to the pool was difficult, especially for elderlies, would have been so much safer to have a hand rail installed. Great location, easy walk to the plentiful restaurants and bars in beautiful Aix en Provence.

We stayed for 2 nights our first visit. We chose based on wanting a pool. Great welcome and lovely reception - we were lucky to be able to check in early at around 11:30am and our rooms were ready. Spacious clean room with a huge comfy bed. Air con could have been colder. We were 5th floor. Bathroom was again clean and good size but no shower gel - phoned and it was quickly topped up. It was bath with shower overhead, would rather a walk in shower but maybe they are upgrading soon. We had a tiny balcony which was nice for an evening drink. The pool was small but it was refreshing and we never had an issue getting sunbeds. One of the days it was chaotic with lots of kids and balls being thrown around not too relaxing. The 2nd day it was calm and infact one of the team said the kids aren’t allowed to play with balls. Don’t think parents too happy and it was strange the previous day it was overrun with many balls and dive bombs etc. There’s no rail to get into the pool so small kids struggling and hanging around the steps making it difficult to get in and out. Breakfast was plentiful with fresh baked croissants. Real fresh orange juice which is rare these days. Plenty of choice with baguettes and cheeses, eggs or omelette cooked to order.
