I don't quite understand the complaints of reviewers regarding the "no AC" situation here. This is a 15th century building with massive walls almost a meter thick! Mounting AC devices here would cause incomprehensible damage to the building. Besides there is really not much need for it since heatwaves mostly arrive once or twice a year. The building is surrounded by a wonderful garden with fountains and wells, most of the day one can easily find a lot of shade. The rooms are of course not huge, but they are cosy with a Middle-Ages flair and give enough space for an enjoyable accommodation. We prepared our breakfasts by ourselves, the kitchenette was well-equipped. We had a lovely one-week stay in the Bastide.

“Vacation for two sisters”
We loved the old, old house and the garden. And the peace and quietness at the place in the outskirts of Aix en Provence. There is no aircondition in the rooms, but a fan. The rooms - appartment is a bit outdated, but If you Can live with that the place is OK.

The hotel is charming from the outside however the room may be a bit small but it was lovely. I'd advise not to visit during the summer simply because it has no air conditioning. But if you don't mind just a small table fan, by all means. The heat wave made it worse this year. Thankfully it was only for a night. Spotted a grasshopper in the room since we had to keep the window open for more ventilation. Other than that, it's easy to get around with the bus stop at walking distance and a few restaurants in the neighborhood.
