The Mr. and I recently spent 3 nights in the magnificent Hotel de Bourgtheroulde Autograph Collection, in a Junior Suite with a courtyard view. This is a beautiful, well located hotel that offers impeccable service and attention to detail. We enjoyed the extensive breakfast buffet each morning of our stay. With both sweet and savory options we were spoilt for choice. There was a full bar with a piano player every night but Sunday. It was a fun place to gather after a day of touring. Located in the heart of the old city, we were able to walk everywhere. If we return to Rouen, the Hotel de Bourgtheroulde would be our first choice for accommodations.

“Faulty Plumbing Got Us An Upgrade!”

My wife and I enjoy Marriott properties. For the most part, we have always been pleased with the rooms, the staff, and the amenities. We recently stayed for two nights with breakfast included. While our first room was very nice and more than adequate, there was a problem unbeknownst to me. At breakfast on the morning of 9 June, the waitress taps me on the back and says there is an issue with my room. I didn't need to hurry, but I was informed to stop at the desk after finishing eating. My wife and I did only to find out that we needed to switch rooms as the plumbing in our room was leaking into the room below. The Marriott staff then told us to go out and enjoy the day as the would move everything for us. Oh, they also said they would give us an upgrade. Well, after visiting the Historial and the Church of Saint Joan of Arc, we came back to the upgrade that you can see in the photos. Thank you, Marriott Hotel de Bourgtheroulde. Everything was perfect here! We loved the breakfast buffett and even took an early morning swim before leaving. You even washed my car as a kind gesture. Merci beaucoup!

Just stayed here on the last night of our trip to France. The hotel is slap bang in the middle of historic Rouen and is itself an historic building being a 500 year old mansion. We followed the hotel sat nav instructions which brought us through security barriers to directly down the side of the building. Very convenient considering that Rouen, being a very old city, has lots of winding streets and I couldn't see that much in the way of parking. Everything about our stay was really great. It's the first time we've had a stone spiral staircase to get to our room which looked out over the inner courtyard. Although the receptionists spoke perfect English they respected the fact that I tried to communicate with them in French and stuck to that language. The spa was very high quality and the pool long enough to get some serious lengths in. Breakfast was very high quality. The stand out noticeable thing though about the hotel was the service level. When we checked out we decided to spend more time in Rouen rather than heading back early to catch our ferry. Rather than storing our luggage in reception they had it placed in our car which had been valet parked. Everything about the place oozed quality and if we ever make it back to Rouen would have no hesitation in staying again. My only problem is that Bourgtheroulde is a complicated name to pronounce :)

“Fabulous weekend city break in the historic heart of Rouen”

We booked a 2 night stay at this hotel, and thoroughly enjoyed our stay right in the historic heart of Rouen. We opted for a standard room, and requested a room overlooking the internal courtyard, as we had heard these were the best rooms. We were not disappointed and the hotel lived up to expectations. The room, although small, was comfy, quiet and well equipped with a sizeable king size bed, soft fluffy pillows (more brought promptly on request), a desk area with nespresso machine and a hospitality tray, a small wardrobe with safe, iron and ironing board. The adjoining bathroom had a large shower with double heads and an efficient heated towel rail, with plenty of towels, and robes etc, as well as nice toiletries to use including shampoo, body wash, conditioner and moisturiser. We had booked valet parking, but on arrival at the hotel we struggled to find the entrance, despite having been sent directions, so we called the hotel and the concierge guided us in. We were then helped with our luggage and our car was parked for us. despite this costing 27 euros for 24 hours, it was well worth it as I don't know where we would have parked otherwise, and it meant convenience, peace of mind and security for our vehicle. The hotel is a beautiful building, sympathetically created from a historic masterpiece, to accommodate the workings of a hotel, even including a wonderful pool and spa. We enjoyed our time using the facilities and made the most of the gym, pool, hammam and sauna over the weekend. Staff were helpful, polite, friendly and very accommodating to all our requests, even granting a late check out on departure, having asked the night before - it was arranged seamlessly for us. We especially liked - the wonderful buffet breakfast with excellent selection of fresh fruit, hot cooked items, cold meats, cheese and youghurts etc, and bread and pastries with local jams and honey. - the refillable chilled water bottle provided in the room which could be filled with cold, still and sparkling water - the wonderful pool, hamman and spa - the location which was right in the historic centre - the staff who were all helpful and polite and spoke excellent English. Small areas for improvement - the air conditioning in the room didn't seem particularly efficient, even when turned to high. - the one lift is terribly slow: mostly we gave up and used the stairs
