This hotel far over-performed its cost, and so has become our go-to Paris option. We could get picky- the room is under lit, housekeeping left the window open- but the flowers are beautiful, the room ample, breakfast fresh and delightfully served by the most congenial wait staff one could hope for, and the reception staff! From the welcome by Emilio, and later Leo, the front desk reception, the unsurpassable Aida, and (specially thoughtful) Laura. They, and others, were warm, responsive and prompt. Five stars earned mostly by the by the unparalleled service.

The hotel is in a fantastic location for shops & restaurants It is stylish & peaceful. We slept well and were happy with our room and bathroom Most of the staff were very friendly indeed, save for one particular man on reception who dealt with check in and who took payment from us. I think the hotel will know who I mean. He was on duty on the 15th January during early evening He seemed to think it was ok to give me the hotel tablet telling me to type in the answers to a vast array of questions. I felt that it was the job of the receptionist, to input information into the computer, having obtained it from the guest by asking relevant questions This was particularly so as I and my partner were extremely tired, having been travelling for 10 hours, so I was really too weary to start doing his job on the computer. His attitude was less than friendly, so although the other 2 on reception were extremely friendly, even offering us champagne, that was cancelled out by the attitude of this man I explained that I was too tired to deal with the hotel’s computer system. He then took it back and filled in the information himself There is an earlier review on here saying much the same thing with which I agree

“Melia Paris Vendome Hotel does not disappoint”
We were so pleased with this hotel. The only reason I gave it a 4* is that the rooms are small and the only place to store your clothing ( other than in your luggage) is a small closet with4 hangers. I suggest to bring some hangers. Beds were comfy, bathroom had a good shower/tub. Great vanity area… more
We were so pleased with this hotel. The only reason I gave it a 4* is that the rooms are small and the only place to store your clothing ( other than in your luggage) is a small closet with4 hangers. I suggest to bring some hangers. Beds were comfy, bathroom had a good shower/tub. Great vanity area. Lots of electrical plugs in the room. Good working tv. The pub/dining area was a comforting area after a long, exhausting day. Food and drinks were good. Staff went over the top to accommodate our needs. The Best part is the location -can't beat it! Nearby hotels are much more expensive. We visit Paris often and have stayed in many locations, but we will return to this hotel ( with hangers -ha!). We use Delta Vacations to book our travel plans. December is a fun time to visit with all the Christmas Markets and concerts around the city.

“a below average stay in a great location”

I booked this hotel just for one night after a late arrival. This is my personal opinion on my stay. The location is the best asset. Safe district, close to nice shops, place de la Concorde. A good spot for tourists. The hotel is 3 stars at best by US standard. Lobby is nice, rooms are probably the same they looked in the 1950. Not French history more like not renovated. Rooms are small, but for Paris, this is expected. Everything looks old and tired. Bedding was average. Thermostat didn't seem to work. The bathroom was large for Paris standard with nice marble. I just wish they used something else for towels, theirs feel and look like kitchen rags. I ordered in room breakfast. They managed to have bad croissant and pain au chocolat which is a challenge in Paris... they felt like frozen food. It's not a horrible stay, it certainly is functional but absolutely not luxury.
