This is a hidden gem. This beautiful hotel is on a quiet street close to the Louvre. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. We were upgraded to a suite with an amazing large bathroom. I can’t wait to go back to this hotel very soon!

My experience did not match the many five-star experiences of other travelers. The hotel is not great for a long stay. The rooms need updating. And what room you are assigned can make a big difference. The property is located in a great area of Paris, adjacent to the Palais Royal. It is easy to access and is surrounded by some very good restaurants (HAND, Belle Epoque, Chez George). We loved the location. We stayed for five nights and knew we would want extra space, so we booked a deluxe room with about 300 square feet. I learned that it is REALLY important at this property to know which room you are being assigned. Our room was ample in square footage, but the ceilings on the first floor (Room #12) were so low that the feeling of spaciousness was completely erased. The bathtub, which is not typical in a deluxe room, took up a substantial amount of the square footage. This was disappointing, especially since we had booked for five nights and thought the hotel would want us to enjoy one of the deluxe category rooms with high ceilings and extra-large windows. I would definitely suggest calling ahead and requesting a room on an upper floor. Or save the money and don't upgrade for extra space. As another traveler noted, the bedding is dated and should be upgraded (sheets and pillows both). Another important consideration is that the closet for hanging clothes is really, really small for two people. We had to hang as many clothes around the room as we did in the closet. For two travelers staying five nights, this room just didn't work. I don't agree with travelers who thought the breakfast was good. We thought it was pricey for what you got. The food was institutional, for example, the fruit and coffee; we skipped most mornings and got something fresh down the street. I won't count this hotel out. It would have worked much better if (1) we had been there for a shorter stay and didn't need extra space and (2) we had been assigned one of the deluxe rooms not located on the first level. Those rooms do not feel deluxe and probably shouldn't be billed as such.
