“Great”
Although only for one night, we enjoyed our stay immensely and found the accommodations very nice. Yes, it’s Paris and the room was very small, but it was well done and the bed had a good mattress. Although only for one night, we enjoyed our stay immensely and found the accommodations very nice. Yes, it’s Paris and the room was very small, but it was well done and the bed had a good mattress. There were two lights on each side of the bed but underneath to my delight, were two small reading lights which you could adjust so as not to bother your partner!! The man at the front desk was wonderful and allowed us to check in early which was great after a long overnight international flight. I had meds that needed to be kept on ice which he refreshed twice! Super location as well.

“Very caring and accomodating staff and good location”
Very caring and accomodating staff. Very good location. 5 minutes from Cartier Latin. Close to major transportation RER B and metro lines that take you directly to Louvre etc. Close to Place d' Italy (Cinemas, market with reasonable prices) Small room, but this is Paris.

“No frills but great service ”
No frills borderline 2-3 star (one sign on hotel says "2 stars" and the other says "3 stars". Fair but fairly priced breakfast. What makes the place is uniformly friendly staff who really aim to please. Owner is a good guy too. Decent location, got a very good deal there on Hotwire.

Hotel Garance offers affordable accommodation in a less tourist-infested part of Paris that's worth getting to know, on the edge of the 13th arrondissement. Hotel Garance offers affordable accommodation in a less tourist-infested part of Paris that's worth getting to know, on the edge of the 13th arrondissement. Les Gobelins metro station on Line 7 is a few hundred metres away. Our room was somewhat smaller than those portrayed on the hotel's website and less “swish” than they looked, with some of the wallpaper lifting off. There were also black stains on the ceiling of the bathroom. But the bed was quite comfortable and the room relatively quiet even though it was on the third floor facing the Avenue des Gobelins. The continental breakfast buffet on the first floor had a good selection of cereals, ham, cheese, fruit, yoghurt, croissants, jam and brown or white bread.

“Dated but well located”
The hotel is well located, and the staff is friendly. The ‘family room’ was basically a double with an extra bed squished against one wall. But it wasn’t pricey, so I guess it was ok. And our room was clean (if a bit dated) contrary to some other experiences recorded here.
