We stayed twice over the Christmas period and then in the New Year when we returned to Paris. We found the staff very helpful, receiving an early check in after a long flight. The breakfast is a nice starter to the day and the location is fantastic. Our first room was 40, but when we returned we had 60 on the top floor and corner. This room was the best! We would definitely stay here if we return to Paris.

“Excellent location”

Hotel Emile in the 4th arrondisement was actually my third choice for a week’s stay, but the only one with a room available. And that room was blessedly ready when I checked in in the morning. Hotel rates were all very high for the time of my visit, and this one was more expensive than I would normally pay. However the location was excellent. The front desk staff were all very friendly and helpful with recommendations. The elevator is comically small, and of course the room was quite “cozy” as is usual in Paris. The shower was a glassed stall across from the bed, and I was so-ooo glad I wasn’t sharing this room. The fourth floor window looked out on the corner of the Rue Malher and Rue St. Antoine. The bed was very comfortable with nice sheets and a cozy duvet. The towels were generously sized and fluffy. It was a very walkable neighborhood with good cafes, restaurants, and museums nearby. The metro Line 1 was across the street, and the Place de la Bastille with its hub just a short walk away. The only real downside to the room was the lack of a luggage rack or at least a shelf large enough to put the suitcase on.

This is a beautiful wee boutique hotel. The setting is perfect, the staff are lovely and so helpful. The room was immaculate with lovely furnishings, and fittings, excellent air con and double glazing so that the room was peaceful and when you open the doors onto the balcony the bustle (not noisy) of the street below floats up and you get a great view or the surrounding architecture (we were 4th floor). You are a short and very flat and lovely walk from the Seine, the shops and cafes around are gorgeous and the metro is right on your doorstep. Honestly we’d go back in a heartbeat.

This is a good place for a short, economical visit. What the Hotel Emile lacks in amenities, it makes up for in an incredibly warm reception, good, easy to find Saint-Paul location and serious cleanliness. Honestly, at first glance, the backpack filled lobby looks a bit like a refurbished SRO. And the tiny lift reached by a short staircase, just too precious. But in the room, the view of the church and Paris rooftops is sensational. Although the toilet is mercifully in a closet, the glass-walled shower may unsettle the modest. Nevertheless, the push-together bed was wonderfully comfortable. Good lighting and device outlets at each side of the bed are a plus. There is a safe, small TV, but no coffee service (machine in the lobby). Yet with only three rooms to our floor, the night was peaceful and quiet. We left happy and well-rested.
