The goal in choosing a hotel for this stay in Paris was inexpensive without sacrificing quality and this fit the bill. I knew it wasn’t in a traditional tourist neighborhood, though it was a bit farther out from central than I’d realized. After taking the RER train from CDG, I then had to change to a metro and travel a number of stops to get to the location. However, once I arrived, it wasn’t a problem to get around. The Picpus Metro Station is just around the corner and the Nation Metro Station is about a 10 minute walk, so there is more than one option. The area has plenty of restaurants and shops (like groceries, boulangeries and things expected in a residential neighborhood) and it also felt safe. I’m a 60+ year old woman and I walked by myself both during the day and after dark and felt perfectly safe. My double room, while small—as expected—was very functional. I had space to move around and easily open a suitcase and leave it open. In addition to the bed, there was a nightstand (with plug above), an armoire (with small safe) for clothes and a desk/vanity with chair. Also a small bench/footstool at foot of bed. The bathroom, while not huge, was a comfortable size too. Might be a bit crowded if more than one person is in there at a time, but otherwise not cramped. Walk in shower only. Now, this was a bit snug. If you are larger, it might not be super comfortable. Otherwise, it’s functional, but tight. A reasonable size (by European standards) elevator is available. There is also an area for breakfast indoors as well as a small courtyard outside, but I can’t speak to them because I didn’t use them. There is a small lobby with comfortable seating and I noticed lots of books on shelves. I didn’t ask, but it looked like you could help yourselves to the paperbacks. The lady at the front desk allowed me to check in early and also held my luggage for a short time after I checked out. I appreciated both. As far as stretching my money in an expensive city and still having up-to-date and comfortable accommodations, mission accomplished.

Lovely hotel on a tree-lined boulevard in the charming XII arrondissement. Steps away from Metro line connecting to CDG airport, Tour Eiffel/train to Versailles, Notre Dame/Louvre. The neighborhood is very pretty, quiet, with plenty of inexpensive places to eat both international and French food. A typical cafe for breakfast only half a block away and a very good family-owned Italian restaurant on the same block. The English-speaking staff is charming and helpful. The room and bathroom were spotless, quiet, bright, and tastefully decorated.

This hotel has sweet and friendly personnel who are eager to help. I felt like they were concerned with my safety and well-being - you drop your key at the desk when you go out, old-fashioned but somehow comforting. Nobody gets upstairs who isn't supposed to be there, someone is at the front desk 24/7. The rooms are small (by American standards) but clean and comfortable. If you are looking for a place away from the tourist hustle and bustle, this is the best. The metro is convenient - M6 on the corner, Nation a 5 minute walk - you can get anywhere in the city in half an hour or less. I have stayed twice so far.

“Photo is from across the street”
Main photo is not the hotel, which is very deceiving. That is actually the view from our room. Our hotel was very humble from the outside. Main photo is not the hotel, which is very deceiving. That is actually the view from our room. Our hotel was very humble from the outside. We actually told the private car from the airport that wasn’t our hotel 🏨 and took another 30 minutes to the 2nd hotel with the same name. We then had to pay another driver to take us back to our first hotel. We were tired after all that. 😒 The staff was attentive to our needs and most spoke English which was nice, as we don’t speak much French 🇫🇷 other than basic greetings. The Nespresso coffee was a nice touch for the mornings or a late night drink. ☕️ Room was super small, which is sort of the norm for Paris. We were shocked 😮
