This June, I returned to the Hotel Baume. Here's the thing: I travel to Paris several times a year and it took me a long long time to find the most perfect hotel to use as my home base there. I honestly must have stayed at dozens of Left Bank hotels, and a handful of Right Bank ones as well (I like the quiet neighborhood feel of the Left Bank). About a dozen years ago, I found the Baume. With rare exception (availability reasons), I've never gone back to any other hotel in Paris. Why? Because the Baume always delivers a wonderful stay. I love its size: small, but large enough to employ a very professional staff. I love its location: I come in from the airport on the RER to a stop that's a six minute walk from the hotel. (Taxi cabs to Paris these days take FOREVER!). I look out my window and I see the Odeon Theater. I want a quiet stroll and I have the Luxembourg Gardens right there. -- three block from where I'm staying. I want good food? Well, the sky's the limit. The fifth, the sixth -- all offer so many possibilities. And this time I actually went further afield -- all the way to the 16th, which was so easy, because the Odeon Metro stop is so close to the hotel. I pick my favorite room -- the small ones are nice, but if you can splurge, go with the bigger ones. They're fabulous! Big windows, lots of space to relax, put your feet up -- so unusual for a small Paris hotel! I have been there often enough to have everything and anything go wrong-- but it never does! The rooms are immaculate, the staff is always friendly, helpful, cheerful. The team has been under the leadership of Ms. Harrault for as long as I can remember. She's extraordinary! Everything runs smoothly, the rare times something goes awry, the staff corrects any problem with a smile. I travel a lot. I write this review because I know this hotel so well. And I know that when I next return, it will be as great as the last time and the time before. That means a lot to me. Spending money and being disappointed is not what you want in Paris. At the Baume, I am never disappointed. I am overjoyed to be back.

“Convenience and Charm in Paris”

Charming little hotel conveniently located in the St. Germain area with friendly staff and helpful amenities like an "Honesty Bar" and complimentary pastries. A lovely base of operations from which to explore Paris and also for many excursions into lovely Paris sidewalk cafes and shops.

“Perfectly situated small hotel with very friendly staff”

A lovely little hotel tucked away on a quiet side street, but within 5 minutes' walk of both Odeon metro station and Boulevard St Germain, with its many cafes and restaurants. The room was on the compact side, but it was clean and tidy, with a comfortable mattress and a pleasingly powerful shower... more

A lovely little hotel tucked away on a quiet side street, but within 5 minutes' walk of both Odeon metro station and Boulevard St Germain, with its many cafes and restaurants. The room was on the compact side, but it was clean and tidy, with a comfortable mattress and a pleasingly powerful shower. It was a nice touch that a free bottle of water was provided every night of our stay. The staff were all absolutely delightful. The only slight negative was that the breakfast pastries were perhaps not as fresh as they could have been.

“Tres' Chic Boutique Hotel near Odeon/Luxembourg Gardens”

Chic petite boutique hotel on rue Casimir., Saint Germain. Very professional/hospitable staff, conveniently/centrally located (but quiet), and excellent maid service. Chic petite boutique hotel on rue Casimir., Saint Germain. Very professional/hospitable staff, conveniently/centrally located (but quiet), and excellent maid service. This was my 3rd visit and I already planned my 4th visit in 2025. Lovely establishment! Numerous restaurants in this vicinity! Down the block from the Odeon/Luxembourg gardens. It is short walking-distance from the Le Bon Marche (for foodies). It is also near the Musee D'Orsay/ L'Orangerie/ Petite Palais. Near Le Bon Marche.
