This was a last minute trip in the dark days of what had been a very difficult year - we were all set to go and about to buy tickets but a plausible hotel within the peripherique for sensible money was eluding us. And we have stayed in some fleapit French-owned hotels in Paris! Step in Holiday Inn Montmartre - reasonable money, great accommodation, friendly puckish staff who were on the ball throughout and made us smile. Great location as well for introducing the children to the delights of the city and re-making our own acquaintance. Thank you so much, Holiday Inn!

We had a delightful 4-night stay in this small, charming hotel. With a last-minute booking and a late-night arrival, our room on the first night was tiny, but next morning they changed it to a pleasant, spacious room. In doing so one of the front desk cheerfully helped us pack and carry our things to the new room. A terrific feature of the hotel is the lounge/breakfast room, which after breakfast is available to guests to use. It has a small bar and tea/coffee are available, and the bright young people at the front desk are happy to help -- as indeed they are at all times. There is no restaurant, but you can bring in your own food or order from a delivery service and eat there comfortably, with crockery, cutlery, and a microwave conveniently available. A word on the location. The street is in a quiet part of Montmartre. A few restaurants, a boulangerie/patisserie, a grocery, and a pharmacy are within a five-minute walk, and it is 500 metres (of an uphill walk) to Rue Lepic, which is full of bars and restaurants, many open until late.

We recently had a good two night's stay at Holiday Inn Paris - Montmartre. We stayed in room 506 which faced the inner yard. The room had a good size with a kettle, an espresso maker, a jug for getting drinking water from the "kitchen" close to the reception and a good size empty fridge. Coffee and milk were provided for the first night but not replenished for the second night. Luckily we saw the cleaner who was doing her rounds and she brought us some more once we asked her. There was also a rice bowl and 2 pairs of chopsticks. There was some lack of storage space as there was only a wardrobe with some cloth-hangers. The bed was comfortable. They had a note on the pillow which said that it would be possible to ask for a soft or a hard pillow made with natural materials. As we were happy with pillows we did not use the offer. There were bedside tables on either side of our beds and a small table with one chair. The carpet was fitted which we were not keen on due to hygiene reasons. The bathroom had a bath and shower combo. There were some full size Dove products next to the sink: Hand soap and body lotion. They had full size Dove products next to the shower/bath: Shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. In the bathroom there was a good amount of storage for potions and lotions. We only had two little complaints about the hotel. Firstly, the breakfast was OK but not to the standard of most other Holiday Inn hotels, for example Holiday Inn Grands Boulevards has a far superior breakfast buffet compared to the one at Holiday Inn Paris - Montmartre. We understand that Holiday Inn Paris - Montmartre is smaller and the breakfast area is smaller, but some more variety would be welcome. The items in the breakfast buffet were replenished regularly which was a plus. We found it a bit odd that the people taking care of the breakfast area were so keen to take our plates away if we had a little break with eating. On both mornings we had to tell them that we were not finished yet. Secondly, the breakfast finishes at 10am and the check-out is at 11am. That is an hour earlier than in most hotels. But on the positive side, they served mini pastries in the reception in the afternoons which we thought was a nice touch. All things considered, we would stay again at Holiday Inn Paris - Montmartre.

This hotel is nice and a great location, horrible service however which is unfortunate. When I left in the morning there was no one to check out with. When I e-mailed them to get a receipt they did not respond. Upon further messages I was told it would be sent. it was not sent so I called, I was told it would be sent. It was again not sent so I called back and was told they did not have the ability to send me a receipt. First time I have ever had issues getting a receipt from a hotel in 30 years of travel. Very strange and incompetent behavior from a large corporate hotel.
