Being across the street from the Gare de Lyon, Paris would, by itself, recommend this Holiday Inn as a great place to stay. But in addition, the staff are very friendly, the small balcony is inviting and the king beds are really comfortable. A couple of small points to bear in mind: check in time is late in the afternoon and for those arriving early in the morning via overnight flights to Paris, be prepared to spend some time waiting; it was inviting to see the coffee machines in the lounge and the refrigerators full of juice, but it was not clear where to get the coffee pods to put in the coffee maker, or whether the juice was available for all. No question but I would book again, if the exchange rate were a bit more favorable.....

We spent four nights here and were pleasantly surprised. The positives: *Check-in was friendly and efficient and our status as top tier IHG members was recognised and was rewarded with an upgrade to a higher category room. While not a guaranteed perk, it’s nice when it happens. *The location of the hotel was pretty good but not super close to some of the main tourist sites. What’s handy is the fact the numerous subways etc are in the local area and Gare De Lyon Train Station is short stroll away at the end of the street. Having said that, Paris is a great city to explore on foot. *Our room was super quiet even though it faced a very busy street. We heard nothing at all. *There are tonnes of shops and restaurants in the area including a large Carrefour on the next block. *Our room was spacious by Paris standards and was well appointed. *The breakfast was surprisingly nice with a large spread of options to indulge in. We had really low expectations for breakfast so it was nice to be pleasantly surprised. *The hotel has room service but no restaurant other than at breakfast time. *Check-out was very friendly and efficient. As it was Christmas Day we were heartily wished a Merry Christmas by the two gents at the desk. The negatives: *Ugh, the pillows. Truly the worst I’ve ever experienced anywhere in the world. We were tempted to pull one apart to see what they were stuffed with as they hard weird crusty hard lumps in them. We asked a couple of times for softer pillows but the one we received on the second day was hardly any better. I’d suggest they all need to be trashed and new ones purchased. *There was very little space to store clothes etc. We had to be creative with this. It was ok for four nights for the two of us. *The room was always stuffy and we found the need to open the balcony doors to cool down. *The shower head was super blocked. After we cleaned all the little jets it worked so much better. We shouldn’t really have had to do this. I’d recommend a stay here if you need a well-connected base to explore Paris. The fantastic breakfast will set you up nicely for the day ahead.

Great locaton, easily accessible (Paris Orly 30mins!) The check-in experience was great—my Diamond status was recognized, and I was warmly greeted. I was offered the breakfast option as a welcome amenity, and they even arranged a late check-out during the check-in process. I requested a quiet, top-floor room, which wasn’t ready for early check-in, but it was available promptly at 3 pm. To my surprise, my request resulted in a 2-3 category upgrade to a Premium room that felt more like a suite. It was very comfortable and quiet, equipped with water, Nespresso pods, slippers, and a bathrobe—amenities I didn’t expect from a Holiday Inn!😅 Breakfast was just okay. The selection was a bit limited, and the staff wasn’t very welcoming. However, during check-out, the front office team was again very friendly and cheerful. Overall, I had a very good experience during my stay ann I can absolutely recommend the hotel!
