We arrived in the afternoon and were welcomed very warmly at the reception. One tip if your coming in from the airport via the airport express is to just go through the station and through the mall. You can see the hotel directly driving into the city so it's not difficult to spot. When you exit the main train station don't take the stairs/escalator as it will take you up and down. Just walk through the Westfield mall and you'll see the hotel directly on the other side. First impression of the entrance at ground level isn't really great. But when you reach the lobby level (which you need to take the lifts to get to) the hotel looks amazing. We didn't have to wait for check in. In fact, we never had to wait for anything during our stay–the lifts worked, reception wasn't busy. Our check in was pretty smooth and friendly. We booked two nights including breakfast in a standard room. It was our first time in Lyon and the receptionist gave us a map and pre-printed recommendation of restaurants. We really appreciated this and had us excited going into the city. You'll need to take a different set of lifts to access the rooms. We were at the top floor and had a huge room with a great view over the city. I liked the fact that there was a door between the room and the "hallway" between the room and toilets which added for extra privacy. The room was clean and had all the amenities you could need. Breakfast was included in our rate and found it ok. The selection could be better, the quality average. The views were amazing though with hugh floor-to-ceiling windows. I wouldn't recommend paying extra for breakfast if you can't get a good deal as it was unfortunately underwhelming and the service average. The Hotel is located next to France's biggest mall, the Westfield. The mall is huge and has lots of shops, restaurants and cafes which we explored for a bit. The hotel is just a bit off the center but you can get to most of the sights by foot or via public transport pretty easily. An advantage is its proximity to the main train station and airport express – so you don't have to stress when you leave. Check-Out was a seamless experience. No waiting or queueing for that either. Invoice was sent via email automatically. The hotel is an excellent choice in Lyon and you can always see the building everywhere in Lyon which helps you navigate the city as well. I would definitely recommend.
