“Wonderful hotel in the middle of Lyon”

Being in Lyon for 3 nights allowed us to unpack and enjoy the room and hotel more than shorter stays. This is a well-located, full-service hotel with many amenities and a competent front desk and housekeeping staff. Located in Place des Jacobins with the huge fountain in the middle, it is close to many shops and restos, eg, Zara, Uniglo. Before the opening of breakfast, I was able to get fresh coffee to take upstairs. That starts my day right. Breakfast begins at 7:00. The croissants are varied and flaky. All the selections were inviting and tasty, eg, the fresh squeezed OJ. All the items in the mini fridge were free. We were in "Privilege" rooms which were surprisingly not that much more. This hotel is recommended.

“very good three night stay.”

This hotel is in a perfect location for all areas of Lyon. Our room was a nice since, quite big and with a bathtub which was great. The bathroom however was very small. This hotel is in a perfect location for all areas of Lyon. Our room was a nice since, quite big and with a bathtub which was great. The bathroom however was very small. There was a separate toilet cubicle that was very narrow but ok for us. The bed was incredibly comfortable and the fridge was great and free water was supplied. There were a couple of drawbacks though. There were no drawers at all in the room so we had to keep some of our clothes in our suitcase. There was an ample sized table which could have easily been swapped for a chest of drawers. Also, there were very few sockets and none near either side of the bed.

“Great city centre location”

Great city centre location within easy reach of shops, midway between river Rhone & Soane, about 5 minutes walk from Bellecour metro station and about 10-15 minutes walk from old town. Great city centre location within easy reach of shops, midway between river Rhone & Soane, about 5 minutes walk from Bellecour metro station and about 10-15 minutes walk from old town. Our standard room on the 5th floor was clean and comfortable - very much as described on Accor website. Mini fridge really useful. The bath tub in the bathroom was a pleasant surprise, shower worked well too. Lovely Nuxe shower-gel etc in bathroom. The room itself was not massive, but the tall French window opening on to a small balcony (about 60cm deep) made it feel more spacious. The only downside of the room is the air conditioning is not very efficient when the fan is turned down for sleeping. Being south facing, the room did get warm. We dealt with this by taking the duvet of of the cover and just using the empty duvet cover on the bed at night. The breakfast area is small - breakfast buffet was a variety of hot and cold food. If you can eat everything on offer it's worth the 20 Euros, but not if you are lactose intolerant or vegan, as the Lyonais like their butter and cheese! Allergens not marked in buffer area, you need to ask the staff for details. Soya milk was available. Overall, a very nice hotel in an old French building with lovely staff.

Nestled in Lyon's upscale shopping district, this hotel offers a delightful blend of luxury and convenience. Surrounded by designer boutiques and gourmet restaurants, the historic architecture of the neighborhood adds to its charm. Perfectly situated at the corner of Place des Jacobins, it is a mere 5-minute stroll from the Bellecour metro stop and a 25-minute walk from the Part-Dieu train station. The lobby, though intimate, exudes charm with its quaint seating areas and a reception that doubles as a cozy bar. This hotel is ideal for those seeking a functional yet stylish stay in the heart of Lyon. A commendable partnership with a hospitality college provides work placements for students, fostering a sense of community despite occasional inefficiencies—check-in, for instance, took 15 minutes despite three staff members being present. The hotel features a single, small lift servicing all floors, which may result in brief waits but encourages the use of the stairs. As a loyalty member, my room, though not upgraded, was converted into a privilege room, complete with the expected amenities. The room, while not expansive, was generously sized by French city standards. However, a lingering musty odor detracted from the overall experience. The bed, centrally positioned, was exceedingly comfortable, with an array of pillows to choose from. Adequate plug points and versatile lighting options were conveniently located by the bedside. The room included a small table and chairs for working, along with a fridge and tea/coffee facilities typical of the Mercure brand. Unfortunately, the WiFi was neither robust nor speedy, averaging around 12 Mbps. The bathroom, though sufficient, lacked adequate shower pressure. A small balcony provided a charming view of the square and its beautiful fountain, though it was only large enough to stand on. In conclusion, this hotel offers a functional stay with the potential for elegance, should the bedrooms receive some thoughtful updates.
