Another wonderful stay at Maison Rouge! It is our favorite place to stay in Strasbourg and it has the best cocktails. During our 2023 stay at Maison Rouge, Norman highly encouraged us to return during the Christmas season to experience Le Marché de Noel. We were so excited to have the opportunity to stay in the heart of the Christmas Markets with everything within walking distance. Upon our arrival, it was so special to see a familiar face. Norman took excellent care of is on our last stay and spoiled us in his new role in Guest Relations. Norman always goes above and beyond. It is a quality that cannot be learned, but it from the heart. Our room was comfortable with a view of the town. On our way to see Strasbourg, Norman continued to provide excellent hospitality by offering us a map of the Christmas markets, his suggested route, the oldest market, and an umbrella (as it was raining.) Most importantly, Norman provided excellent communication regarding the tram/train/taxi logistics and limitations due to the holiday events to ensure we knew the best way possible to our destinations. We received Five Star Hospitality! Every morning, we looked forward to our cozy cute booth and the buffet breakfast. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. The food selection was great and the eggs were cooked perfectly. We look forward to returning again!

Well located hotel ideal for visiting Christmas markets. Marriott Platinum member and service was excellent. Special recognition to Berengere who met us at Pointe de Paris, rode with us in our rental car to guide us to the hotel, arranged for parking, gave us recommendations for restaurants and Christmas market touring. She also provided driving directions to get around the restricted zones during Christmas Markets. Just an all around great stay. Great meal at the hotel restaurant.

“Unbelievable service and we had yet to arrive!”

I believe we made most of our arrangements on July 4 for a December trip so this was a long time in the planning. As we got toward the Fall, I forced myself to go through all the Alsatian restaurants and chose one each for the three nights. I am trying to block out my mistake in planning where we couldn’t get good seats on the train from Paris on the first day and ended up paying for the first night of four and not being there. Anyway, there were problems with all three restaurants. One had no website and the others only took phone calls and only two weeks or so from the dates requested. I decided to try the hotel concierge. This is how I met by email Benoit and Julien. Two reservations were made by one of the two and there was a waiting period where I just had to wait….but sure enough I did get a return email saying I now had my third reservation. They had not forgotten me! That is service! Then we arrived. We made a mistake of saying we did not need help getting acquainted with our room. Therefore we were way too hot the first night. The thermostat did nothing. On the second day we asked Benoit for a blanket so we could use it and remove the very warm duvet. That helped some. Finally on the third day my husband asked, and turned out a knob over by the door worked the heat! Oh well. Our mistake. The hotel is amazing, everything was wonderful. Mostly we quizzed Julien and he had all the answers. One evening rather late we came back and wanted to know if they would be annoyed in the bar if we ordered hot chocolate only. His answer to that was to take us in there himself, say something to a server, then take our coats and before hanging them on a rack, asks my husband if he has a wallet in the pockets. How thoughtful! More good service. He also arranged for our two suitcases to be wheeled by bicycle to the train station and we met them down there before our train. The day we left, we checked out and went to Petit France. We were walking along and somebody said my husband’s name. It turned out to be Julien…it was his day off and he was out shopping. We had a nice chat with him and he asked if we would come back to Strasbourg. Oh yes, absolutely and mostly because of the hotel and people like him! We enjoyed reading about him in the hotel magazine in our room as well!

“Solid hotel in a great location”

We just had two nights here and the location is perfect. Right in the heart of old town, it’s a 2 minute walk to the Cathedral, 10 steps to public transport, next door to galleries La Fayette and so much more. We just had two nights here and the location is perfect. Right in the heart of old town, it’s a 2 minute walk to the Cathedral, 10 steps to public transport, next door to galleries La Fayette and so much more. Breakfast is excellent and staff are eager to please. Unfortunately I couldn’t give it 5 star as the fitness centre is underwhelming and the lack of a decent upgrade for a titanium member was also underwhelming. Rooms are small but very comfortable. That said, I would certainly return as the location and staff are outstanding.
