“Excellent stay and exceptional dinners”
We stayed there for three nights at the end of September. The room was unique, inside a mountain cave, yet very ample, quiet, warm , comfortable. We stayed there for three nights at the end of September. The room was unique, inside a mountain cave, yet very ample, quiet, warm , comfortable. We accessed the room by stairs, however they offered rooms accessible by elevator, as well. But the stars of the stay were the people working there and their two restaurants. The Gastronomique Restaurant deserves *** Michelin stars: I can’t express our experiences there in words, you have to try for yourself. The dinner at the Bistro is great too. The value for the food is amazing considering the quality and the service. This is a hidden gem that I hope doesn’t get spoiled by fame and hordes of bus tours. Thank you for the hospitality!

“Perfection”
If you are in this region, stay in the troglodyte hotel. Staff are efficient, hotel is beautifully positioned over looking the Loire. Very relaxing after a day of sight seeing.

Room size and quality and views which can only come from a attentive and caring establishment. And the real bonus .. One of the largest and most comfortable hotel beds we have slept in for ages!

“Beautiful hotel overlooking the Loire”
We didn't to a cave room - but had a beautiful, spacious room overlooking the river. Comfortable, beautiful hotel - excellent and very helpful staff. Brilliant views with great light in the afternoon and evening.

“A unique experience”
The hotel is unique, well situated with a lovely staff. The hotel is going through some changes following the arrival of new management, so there are still a few issues, but it remains a remarkable hotel. The rooms carved into the cliff are amazing.
