“Driving from the UK to south of France? This is a great family stopover.”

We stayed twice at Chateau Belmont at each end of our trip in France as a mid way stopover between London and the Dordogne region. This was one of few hotels that had onsite parking. “Great stay”

We visited as a family of four. We had a comfortable family room, lovely grounds, delicious food. Would defo stay again as didn't get to see enough of the sights of Tours.

“smart modern chateau”

bit difficult to find but a quiet oasis 20 mins walk from tours centre, the old chateau and been well modernised and sits in beautiful gardens, staff are friendly and helpful, breakfast buffet was busy and the coffee was dreadful otherwise would be a 5

This was one of few hotels that had onsite parking. If you are travelling as a family and want a treat this really is a lovely stopover and Tours is a vibrant city. Overall our experience was excellent. We had a family room 134 on the way to our holiday and this was lovely overlooking the pond. I like the fact it also had a kitchenette had we wanted to cook. On the way back we had room 101 which isn’t so great location wise as it was on the road that runs down to the underground car park. But as it was a one night stopover it was fine and though busy for a Saturday, there weren’t a lot of cars passing through. - we were travelling with bikes on the roof so arranged with the hotel to reserve a space for us on level ground. This was done both times and was very quick to arrange and convenient as it was right be reception . - we loved the enclosed grounds as it felt lovely and safe with our children. - the kids loved the pool, and though busy were happily swimming around. - we had dinner on the way to our holiday and though expensive ish was really delicious. The staff were great with our 9yo and 12yo and were patient as we spoke pigeon French. The tables fill up quickly. On our return journey there were just two tables left. (The kids menu is fine, chicken and fries was a plain chicken breast with a delicious gravy) - we enjoyed drinks from the bar on our return journey and the gardens were lovely to sit in. - the beds were very comfortable, and we found the rooms clean and relatively well maintained. The water does escape from under the shower but towels on the floor works fine. - on our return journey we got the tram into Tours for dinner . It’s about a 5 minute walk from the hotel and maybe a 5 minute journey into Tours. We walked on the way back around the back roads with the very pretty houses which took about 20 minutes from the bridge. - we arrived early on the first day (2.30pm) and I was floored that we could get into our room. Very welcome after a long journey. The only negative I would add is the walls are very thin so you can hear children/showers/toilets/doors. But we were only sleeping in the room so it was fine..
