“Good hotel, would happily return”

Lots to like about this hotel. The front desk staff were welcoming and efficient, and the rooms were just as described. Each room has a lockable ski locker (although beware that you can only get your key at certain times of day), and it’s a manageable shortish walk across the car park to get to the lifts. We enjoyed the generous breakfasts, and the afternoon ‘tea time’ at 4.30pm each day was very popular although it would have been even better if it had actually included a cup of tea! We stayed half board which was very convenient, with a choice of two starters, main courses and puddings each evening. The food was generally very nice, but I was disappointed the meals were not more balanced. There was a real lack of fresh fruit and vegetables, and no vegetarian options at all the whole time we were there. The English translations of the half board dinner menu - displayed in the lifts each afternoon - provided daily amusement (see photo for example!)

We had a lovely time at the hotel, from the minute we walked into the lobby we were met with a very warm welcome. The room was lovely with beautiful views , very clean and plenty of space. The bar area was really comfortable, staff are so friendly and helpful they actually made our holiday - a huge thank you to Alicia, Thomas and Arthur. After a day of skiing, it was great to come back to afternoon tea and sit by the fire. The restaurant has amazing views, the evening meal was lovely and I must call out Tristan, he is the manager of the restaurant and demonstrates true leadership, his attention to detail is outstanding and you can see the team who work with him follow the same standards- all are so friendly and helpful! Unfortunately, breakfast is not the same and the reason why I gave 4 stars not 5. Tables are not reset after people leave, many people walking round looking for knives and forks, the hot breakfast food ran out very quickly and not replaced, the coffee machines were permanently running out of milk, there was no visibility of a manager and staff stood around and not so helpful such a shame as everything in the hotel is amazing.

Pros: - hotel is very conveniently located near the ski rentals and lifts - large breakfast buffet, solid quality (except for patisseries which did not look appealing) - were ugraded to a larger room - nice afternoon tea offering free of charge (includes cakes, crêpes, sandwiches, drinks) Cons: - restaurant good but not excellent and some orders were forgotten - menu not online and was not sent as requested via mail several times - lunch was average (croque monsieur arrived cold first) - service can be patchy - could not get lunch or anything to eat as kitchen is closed between 3 and 4.30 pm it seems - whirlpool is being charged separately - not great value for money - reception staff has little leeway to make decisions
