“Excellent”

Wonderful Hotel. Excellent service with affordable price. Very accommodating staff too. Hotel is Close to everything. They have unlimited free hot and cold drinks plus cakes. Overall, We enjoyed our stay and we are able to use the sauna by ourselves, just needed to approach the reception and book.

If I could give 6 stars I would. This was honestly the best hotel experience I’ve ever had (not exaggerating), a reason to visit Chamonix alone as if the scenery and culture are not enough: We came to Hotel de L’Arve for the location; we will return for the outstanding staff, beautiful rooms, extra free perks, espresso maker, incredible patio, game room, bicycle loaners, and so much more. The Staff: mostly interacted with Dounia, Ophelia, and Samar while we were there. All of them were wonderfully charming intelligent helpful bilingual professionals that made us feel like we were staying with old friends or family. Dounia gave us great recommendations for Chamonix, found us an awesome room and even validated our pillow shopping decisions. Samar helped us with bag storage on our final day and understanding how to work a washing machine with French buttons. Ophelia literally walked us to our bus stop to make sure we made it to our connecting shuttle when we left. Where else do you see this quality of service these days! We biked (free) to breakfast and along the Arve river; sipped free lattes on our private deck in morning sunshine, drink delicious beer (on tap) in the perfectly shaded patio gazing up at the Alps as rafters floated down river beside us. We will never forget our experience at Hotel de L’Arve.

“Superb stay”

We stayed for a week from the 12th February. All I can say is what a wonderful experience it was. The staff, particularly Samar, could not do enough for us and was extremely informative. It is a 3 star hotel and could perhaps do with a little sprucing up in same areas and could suggest coffee maki… more

We stayed for a week from the 12th February. All I can say is what a wonderful experience it was. The staff, particularly Samar, could not do enough for us and was extremely informative. It is a 3 star hotel and could perhaps do with a little sprucing up in same areas and could suggest coffee making facilities in the rooms, but that would certainly not deter us from booking again. It’s a ‘Happy Culture Hotel’ by name and nature! It’s very central, yet tucked away for a quieter stay.

“Great stay”

We had two nights here. The Hôtel de l'Arve is a round a 7 minute walk from the railway station (we arrived by train) and literally 2 minutes from the town centre with all amenities (shops & restuarants) The reception staff were very friendly and we received a free room upgrade. We had two nights here. The Hôtel de l'Arve is a round a 7 minute walk from the railway station (we arrived by train) and literally 2 minutes from the town centre with all amenities (shops & restuarants) The reception staff were very friendly and we received a free room upgrade. Free tea / coffee and hot chocolate are available 24 hours per day from a machine in the reception / lounge area and at 2pm each day they provide a cake for guests to use. My only complaint - a woman who was dealing with breakfast - checking room number and replenishing items. She had a cold and was constantly coughing into her hands. Her hands would then handle the food that you were about to eat :-(
