Very close to the train station and a quick walk into the old town by the Arena. The immediate area looks a bit bland, but you don't need to walk far at all to find more signs of life. The staff was excellent (even upgraded my room), and spoke great English and breakfast was available. My room was spacious, clean and would stay here again.

Lovely clean and well thought out accommodation. Our room was cleaned and tidied after the first night. Brilliant location and we found it peaceful - apart from the audible plumbing -which we soon got used to. I wish I had remembered my Netflix account details as there was a lovely big TV. The staff were great. Leah gave us a lovely welcome in English and gave us a guide to the different types of restaurants in the town. This was really useful as there are so many bars and cafes that it hard to know where to start ( even using TripAdvisor of course !) The town has free Wi-Fi hotspots which was super handy. Thank you Majestic !

Our experiences with this little hotel were as following: Positives: + very friendly staff (in general) + nice appointed room with terrace (room 101) + great location, between the railway station and the nice city center but still quiet at night + free wi-fi + good price/ratio + pretty clean in general Negatives: - small bathroom (typical french I guess) - hair dryer not working properly is it seems to be broken a bit (room 101) - unpleasant smell in the room (coming from the shower drain I suppose) Thank you for arranging the taxi service for us from and to the airport!

Very Well Located Hotel. The Majestic is a very basic, simple hotel with a rather tired, cramped uninviting reception area. Even in the rooms the decor seems dull and dark. But the good news is that the reception staff are lovely, warm and helpful, and the hotel represents excellent value for money. I asked for a lower-floor room and was allocated a double room just up the stairs on the first floor. The room, while uninspiring, had everything one could need---TV (no English channels, but Netflix) safety deposit box, sparkling clean sheets, a cute reading light , etc etc Best of all, it had fully functioning air conditioning---lovely and cool when one came in from the heatwave. My room had a large, modern, recently renovated bathroom, a huge bonus. I'm not sure if all rooms have these. There was a large modern, glassed in shower cubicle with continuous hot water, a mirror with a touch screen light, etc The location is super---litterly two minutes from the station, yet close to the Arena. There is no grotty vibe in the area around the station. Instead there is a lovely, long, tree- lined avenue leading to the Arena. Breakfast--especially the cooked offerings---did not inspire. It cost €12. One minute walk from the hotel down the main avenue, on the corner across from the station, is a café which does "breakfast"---two long slices of baguette, a croissant, butter, marmalade, orange juice and coffee--- for €6.80 I was very happy with this hotel. It is simple, but good value and has lovely staff Nîmes is a great base for exploring the surrounding area by train or bus, so being so close to the train and bus station was a real bonus. The bus station is just behind the train station.
