“Trop journey”

I really enjoyed staying at Marquis de la Baume hotel. Nice place and professionnal people who have provided relevant advises which have made our stay very confortable. Dont hésitante to book at Hotel Marquis de la Baume for a wonderful stay in Nîmes

The location was excellent, within walking distance of the station and the various Roman antiquities in Nimes. The location was excellent, within walking distance of the station and the various Roman antiquities in Nimes. Our room (prestige Queen room) was super; equipped with a coffee maker and with an outside terrace. The bed was very comfortable. The reception staff were very pleasant and helpful. The buffet breakfasts were very good, with fresh fruit, scrambled eggs, bacon, crepes, pancakes and delicious bagutte and croissants.

This is a fabulous 17th century property in the center of Nimes. All the major attractions, such as the amphitheater, are within walking distance. The optional breakfast downstairs in the dining room is very nice in buffet style. The rooms are nice and well equipped. As mentioned, there are some drawbacks to this hotel, notably: there is no on-site parking and so you have at least a 10 minute walk to the nearest large parking structure that is reasonable in cost but not free. Figure $30 overnight. Annoyingly, the hotel is in a one-way street and there are parking barriers lining the narrow street. As such, as you arrive, you have to unload your car while holding up traffic. Then you have to find the parking garage and walk back. Not a major deal, but certainly not simple. Last, as this is a 17th century building, there are quite a few steps to navigate, as other travelers have pointed out. There is an elevator, but it doesn’t mitigate all of the stairs, and certainly not the walking to and from the car. Again, not abnormal in an ancient city, but something to be aware of if you’re used to say Hilton or Hyatt parking lots in the states.

“Useful”

Useful location. Room very airless and because it was first floor with Juliet balcony could not open the window so hard to sleep. Staff are nice and friendly. Coffee machine supplied. Car parking in nearby Les Halles - extremely tight turns!
