I was welcomed at Hotel de Nevers without having to wait. Family members run the hotel and everyone was friendly. Inexpensive accommodation in the centre of Lourdes with easy road access. Parking is secure but there is a fee. Decoration, both inside and out, is in need of a redo. The room was clean with an adequate ensuite and comfy bed. The old world charm has gone too old world but it has character. The tiny lift in a cage is reminiscent of French thriller movies of the last century. Breakfast was not a buffet at this season, just bread, jam, croissant and coffee served at the table. Table needed to be booked for dinner but there are lots of places to eat nearby. WiFi worked in room as well as in the lounge. The heating had not been turned on in the room so it was cold when I first arrived. I stayed for the secure parking and value when travelling alone so I was not disappointed but I would not stay here with the vegetarian who likes more refinement.

“Nice place but it needs some repairs”

Nice hotel, close to the train station and also to the city centre. Great staff, very helpfull. It's kind of strange that the floors at first storey are crooked, looks like the hotel is downhill. The room is clean, enough space and warm.

We travel to Lourdes once a year on average, and we have used this hotel for the last 6 years. It's a family owned place, by a couple, whom along with the rest of the members of staff, have always been helpful and friendly, contrary to the comments in previous reviews, by which I am surprised by. I think it is how you speak to people, and how they respond. Location wise it's prefect, for both those travelling via car (as it's on the main road coming into Lourdes), and those coming by Train (2-3 minutes taxi drive), but you can't hear neither making much of a nuisance noise. There are loads of shops and cafes located around, which is good, and it's just above the main road (Boulevard de la Grotte, and above the Place Jeanne D'Arc) that leads up to the Grotto. You are also a few minutes away from the town centre, as well as the Chateau Fort Castle (which was good during the week we stayed as it was the week of Bastille Day, and they had amazing fireworks), and the Sacre-Couer Cathedral. It also has a small car park around the back which fits around 10-12 cars - we were travelling in a van, and it fitted in well. The rooms were adequate for what is needed and what you pay for. We had booked 3 triple-rooms, big enough and cozy for 3 adults. The beds were comfy, and the bathroom was sufficiently big. Fresh towels were provided and bedrooms were made without any issues each day. Yes, it has an interesting lift, but it is quite fun and it does the job - don't let minor negative lift comments put you off. The breakfast is one of the best compared to other hotels in Lourdes - is all-you-can-eat buffet style - breads, fresh croissants, cereals, yoghurts, fruits and drinks and there is no limit on how many times you refill drinks or plates. The evening dinner is also good, and make sure if you are planning on having dinner in the hotel, to make a booking in the morning. It is slightly dated, I will admit, but you get your money's worth - excellent value for money. There is also free Wi-Fi in the lobby area, which is also a comfortable place to chill out and have a few drinks. All in all, we have always had a very pleasant stay and would definitely recommend this hotel to others.
