Really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Room was a good size for two people (I think we were in the smallest room), good sized bed, small kitchen (with microwave, fridge, hob and dishwasher) and bathroom. Nice to be able to make a quick meal and store fresh food. We used the pool quite a lot and it was always quiet (we visited in early June). Sometimes we were the only ones there. Pool is a good temperature and nice sun loungers to sit out. Only downside is it is very close to some of the rooms so you can hear people talking inside/on their balconies. Staff were nice. Really good location, you do have to walk around 15 mins to the main port area of La Rochelle but we liked the walk and the area seemed nice and safe as far as we could see. A small supermarket, bakery and food places nearby. Car parking very secure and simple to use. The downsides would be there did not seem to be aircon, the road was a bit noisy, although the road when we had the window open (which was needed as no aircon). Didn't have breakfast so can't comment on that.

“Lovely apartment in a fab location with good amenities and friendly staff! ”

The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was the lack of aircon (it was very warm and humid when we visited) but it's very hard to find a hotel with air con + pool in La Rochelle and apparently there are plans to add this next year. The only other downside was not being able to have drinks at poolside… more

The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was the lack of aircon (it was very warm and humid when we visited) but it's very hard to find a hotel with air con + pool in La Rochelle and apparently there are plans to add this next year. The only other downside was not being able to have drinks at poolside, that would have been perfect. Overall though this place was lovely and we'd stay again. The room was clean, modern and well equipped, the location was excellent (short and lovely walk to the centre), the breakfast was very good (lots of choice, excellent coffee and loads of food constantly replenished). The staff were wonderful, extremely friendly and helpful. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

“Ok for a few days”

After a long drive South from Calais, we didn't spend long in the room before making for the pool for a welcome dip. Our room had a lovely view out over the car park and surrounding industrial buildings, but to be fair most city hotels lack a sea view. Our room was ok, a decent sized double bed and single sofa bed, TV (never switched on), kettle, basic stove and a fridge. The kitchenette had enough pots and pans to cook a simple meal and eat in on the table and chairs (or out on the balcony), but being so near the town we ate out at night and picked up breakfast on our way to the beach. The staff were welcoming and the hotel & room were clean and reasonably priced. It's also just 5 minutes walk to either; the Marina heading West or North for views out over the town; or just a straight 10 minutes walk to the centre / Vieux Port, which is fantastic and worth a tour of the Tours (Towers)! It's about a 20 minute drive to the bridge to the Ile de Re, which you must visit if you're anywhere near La Rochelle. Overall a decent, reasonably priced, well located (unless you like to be really central) hotel with a small pool. A good base to explore the area for a few days, which we did before heading South to Bordeaux.
