We stayed overnight, returning from our tour in Ypres and then heading to Amsterdam by train, the following day. Hôtel Lille Europe served the purpose we were looking for, the hotel isn’t far from the train stations (Lille Europe and Lille Flanders), an easy walking distance from the hotel and a place to rest our heads. The staff were super friendly and helpful. The hotel has all your comforts, electronic key card access to your room, tele, WiFi, coffee / tea and kettle provided. The bathroom was of standard size, just enough space to put your toiletry bag on the basin with shower and bathtub combo. The bed and pillows were firm and comfortable and we had a decent sleep. Breakfast was a buffet (hot and cold food; cakes / pastries; fruits, juices, coffees and teas), satisfying and delicious to start our day. Both check-in and check-out process was smooth, fast and efficient. The only thing I will fault is the shower and bathtub combo. The bathtub is fairly high and rather dangerous getting out of the tub after a shower, it’s slippery and likely to be a cause of an accident (if it hasn't happened already?) in the future. Standalone shower is all that is needed in a bathroom when you are limited with space. In fact, I found that Hôtel Lille Europe and Hilton Lille are pretty equal. We stayed at Hilton Lille a few days prior but it was booked out for when we returned to Lille, which was a good thing. We got to try both and compare. We enjoyed our stay and again… amazing staff.

“Average”

Average breakfast €13 pp, great location, average rooms. A functional hotel, no frills very close to main station and town centre. Heating was lukewarm in room, was ok in bathroom. Reception staff speak English. Oh avoid hippopotamus restaurant in the town( see other review)

Modern hotel in a good location between 2 main train stations and Westfield shopping centre. Room clean and compact with nowhere to hang a coat, only hanging space was too short to be of any use. Modern hotel in a good location between 2 main train stations and Westfield shopping centre. Room clean and compact with nowhere to hang a coat, only hanging space was too short to be of any use. I had a walk in shower due to mobility issues and it was OK but the fittings were very loose to the wall. There was a drop down desk and one chair. Room would have been a tight squeeze for 2 people. I was at the front, there was some noise but nothing annoying. Reception staff were friendly and helpful. Pricey for the standard.
