LOCATION: This hotel is located literally across the street from the Lille-Europe train station and only about a 5-minute walk to Lille Flanders train station. It is about a 25-minute train ride from Lille-Europe station to Brussels-Midi (the main station in Brussels, Belgium), from where you can switch to a train that will take you to Brussels’ international airport in about another 25 minutes. Within three minutes’ walk of the hotel is a large indoor mall that has numerous shops and restaurants, and a full grocery (Carrefour) that has within it a pharmacy. Opposite Flanders station are other restaurants and shops. ROOMS: The rooms are sizeable for a European hotel. In addition to a large bed, I had a desk, two chairs, flat-screen TV, good-sized bathroom, small refrigerator, and ample storage. I do not know if the shower/tub in my bathroom is similar to the others, but I found it exceptionally deep, and it did not drain terribly well. The end result is that I had some concern about slipping while showering or stepping out. If you are someone who is worried about slipping in the shower, you might ask if there are grab bars in the tub in your room. Or, as alternatives, you might consider wearing flip-flops or putting a non-slip mat in the bottom of the tub. AMENITIES: The hotel offers a very nice breakfast breakfast that includes various breads, cereals, juices, fruits and yogurts, as well as hot dishes (scrambled eggs, hash browns, sausage, among other items). WORKOUT FACILITIES: I was not able to use the gym, as it was closed for renovation. STAFF: The staff are very nice.

Good little business hotel. Stayed here one night for an early Eurostar and its location is perfect both for the trains and it's an easy walk to a collection of nice restaurants. Comfortable bed, quiet room. The hotel is in transition from IHG to Hilton and it shows: one lift was not working, lamp in my room wasn't working, shower head kind of broken, television didn't work even after I had them replace the batteries...and only one squeeqie bottle of soap (not even soap + shampoo/conditioner) in the bath which feels too low rent for a Hilton. But they had a robe and slippers which the last Intercontinental I stayed in didn't even have so the whole hotel world is upside-down. BUT...one major thing which I SO appreciate as a business traveler. I arrived at 11:30am, planning to hover outside at some cafe for a few hours in the cold on my laptop. The very friendly lady at the front desk didn't even hesitate to let me check in early to my room. That small act makes up for all other shortcomings; so many hotels make a big fuss about early check in and when you're working and just need a quiet place with your computer, that makes a world of difference. So next time I'm in Lille on business I am definitely staying here!

A warm welcome awaits on reception who checked us in a little early always good. Great location The rooms are tired but clean, large bed TV etc. Bathroom small but manageable- plenty of hot water For what they are charging only 2 bottles of water allowed, no repenishment on day 2 or 3. rationed milk 3 small caps for 2 people Bar nice looking but uncomfortable style over comfort – should be ashamed of the poor choice of wine – its France!! Breakfast ok but staff need training on how to use a Bain Maire - it was over fills with water and spilling everywhere when you tried to get the food. Bizarre situation when we called a lift to floor 5 and someone was in the lift with a bed or Mattress, we had to use the stairs for 5 floors and the bloke followed us and the scarpered, reception seemed perplexed that such a thing would happen, don’t they have Cameras? Someone needs to get a grip! A female receptionist apologised on the day and the next day at check out!

Lots to like about this hotel. Great location opposite the Lille Europe train station. Pleasant staff. Nice decor. Decent breakfast. Very glad to have a Hilton-family property in Lille. Unfortunately our room was unbearably hot with no ventilation or cooling option available and no relief even with the system ostensibly off. We advised the staff twice, and although they claimed a technician came to check it, there was no improvement at all. And it was obvious something was malfunctioning as the temperature gradient between the hall and the room was consistently absurd. We were able to get a fan for our second night which helped a little although not much, and unfortunately the heat disrupted our sleep considerably. A shame as this was our only complaint about the place but it was a big one that was not sufficiently remedied.
