“Lovely but a few mosquitos(!) xxxx”
Lovely hotel and so well located - easy walk from both stations. Staff wonderful and safe space downstairs for my folding bike. Lovely hotel and so well located - easy walk from both stations. Staff wonderful and safe space downstairs for my folding bike. Breakfast a bit carby (bread/croissant/pain au chocolat) and pay extra for eggs/cooked. Warm weekend (not sure if aircon was available as didn't look for it) but slept with covers off legs. Mosquito bites all over - ask at desk for mosquito plug in. Loved that there was a bath!!! Lille has a beautiful mainly pedestrianised city centre and it's a pleasure to walk around without traffic noise. The smell of raw sewage was a regular thing but not bad enough to stay away! I left without asking for my passport from the hotel safe. It was promptly sent on for me but it took ten days to reach Holland!!! Lesson learned. Thank you again Hotel de Paix.xx

“Great hotel and location, can get hot in the room”
Lovely traditional hotel, great location, helpful friendly staff. Something to be aware of in the hotter months is that there is no aircon and it can get pretty warm in the room. Opening the windows invites the mosquitoes in so maybe bring some repellent.

The hotel is really well situated to explore all that Central Lille has to offer with the olde worlde cobbled stone streets that yield endless independent shops and the new Westfield shopping centre. Within walking distance of both Euro Lille and Lille Flanders railway stations and just around the corner from the Christmas market. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was busy and served on individual trays to your table along with additional items on the counter. We booked a double bedroom. Unfortunately it was not as described:- there was no in room safe and the bath/ shower combination was actually just a small shower cubicle in the small bathroom. The room was not as big as we are accustomed to with very little room around the bed. As we were there for only three nights we made the most of it and revelled instead in the beautiful city of Lille.
