“Business trip”

This hotel is situated A few kilometrejä from the city Center. Nice and quiet part of the town and just by hopping into the tram number 4 after walking 250m from the hotel main entrance. Nice pool and restaurant with A sunset view. Excellent restaurant.

I needed to express what an exceptional time I had at this hotel. My checkin was quite good with Anna Maria being quite patient with the selection of my room. However, I wanted to give some special acknowledgment to two amazing employees that work there. Tuija, the breakfast manager was wonderful and so helpful. Her attention to details was rather impressive because she knew I loved green tea but they were out the first day. The very next day, when she saw me, she already had some green tea bags available for me and I was shocked plus a bit touched to see that. Every morning I had breakfast, she was just so warm and welcoming!! However, Seija, was the absolute best employee at this hotel. I had a severe case of insomnia and so I would go to the lobby in the middle of the night because I couldn't sleep plus, the sun would set very late, by 11:30pm- 12am and then rise at like 2:30am-3am. My sleeping pattern was very off so I'd be awake from 1am-3am every night. While Seija was working, she'd converse with me and she has the absolute best sense of humor so despite being weary, there was a lot of joking and laughing occurring. I can honestly say, those late night conversations, was the best part of my experience while being in Finland so I'm very grateful for her and her kindness,.... this Hilton has a very special employee. The hotel lies near a bay on the outskirts of Helsinki, but it is easy to reach with the number 4 tram (the ride is fairly long, but the line convenient for just about all the sights in the city). Taxis are always on standby right outside the door. The hotel is noteworthy for having acted as the backdrop to several high-profile meetings between American and Soviet leaders in the past, as well as notable national events. The seaside rooms offer great views across the large bay and the hotel even boasts a few waterside igloos bookable as accommodations. The hotel is divided into two buildings connected by a short walk across circular driveway or an underground walkway. Saunas and a small pool are located in the seaside building. The rooms are in great shape if somewhat 2000s in appearance. Sound insulation was perfect in the seaside building making for a truly relaxing and recharging stay. Scandinavian countries generally do breakfast very well, but Hilton ups the game even further. The complimentary breakfast has everything I could ask for and more as they even offered Waldorf Astoria Red Velvet cake using the original 1920s recipe. Out of the three Hiltons in Helsinki this is certainly the oldest and most remote location, but both of these characteristics are part of its charm. It is also consistently the most affordable of the three.
