“Excellent stay”

Excellent City Hotel. Beds were the most comfy ever and the pillow menu a joy. Bonvoy recognition was the best at any hotel I stayed as a Titanium. Great upgrade and wonderful suite. Spa was great for a city hotel es well. What could be better: - no gym available.

Inside the Old Town walls, the location could not be more perfect for exploring the compact cobblestone streets on foot. Note that ride shares (Uber, etc) cannot drop you or pick you up in front of the hotel, but down the block 100 meters. Only taxis can come to the door. Check-in was pleasant and efficient, and as lifetime Titanium elite members, we were upgraded to a junior suite. Spacious and well appointed with large bath tub/shower, make up mirror, bath sheets and Elemis amenities. Daily housekeeping if you want it. Two water bottles provided each day. No balcony but the window did open a bit for fresh air. Tea kettle in the room. Morning breakfast in the Tchaikovsky restaurant was a generous mix of European buffet offerings plus a menu for ordering omelettes. They’ll bring your coffee and tea to you but you can enjoy choosing from the buffet on your own. The spa offers a quiet respite at the end of the day so bring a swimsuit. Robes and slippers are provided in your room. And try a massage! About half the price of US spas and every bit as good! Umbrellas are available for free at reception, if needed. And for local crafts, the Katariina Guild alley is just across the street, and the Master’s Courtyard is just up the way. Hindricus has lovely handmade articles, and Vivian Vau shoes are one of a kind. Be sure to seek them out. I can recommend two restaurants: Margherita for pizza and Controvento (in the Katariina Kaik alley) for outstanding Italian. There’s a Rimi convenience store nearby and the infamous Maiasmokk cafe is just around the corner. Can you tell I loved my stay??

Good five star hotel. All as expected. Not quite perfect: front desk were too matter of fact for my liking - could have been more forthcoming with assistance; gym not in house and only access to a public one which was 5-10 minutes walk. Good five star hotel. All as expected. Not quite perfect: front desk were too matter of fact for my liking - could have been more forthcoming with assistance; gym not in house and only access to a public one which was 5-10 minutes walk. If management wants to understand my points, front desk said the gym was 5 minutes away but did not bother to get a map out and show me. It was only on the way back I saw there was a short cut to the hotel. They could have advised also that it was a public gym and that I should go there with my own bottle of water. Niggles and not essential points. The rooms otherwise are well appointed and equipped, and the bed was very comfortable.
