Great location, amazing stuff and great breakfast. I will highly recommend staying in this hotel. I would also like to highlight the amazing assistance we received from Claudia which helped us to plan our trip and addressed all of our concerns. We took few private tours around Quito and Patrick, the hotel driver was just awesome. Super friendly, patient, funny, with a lot of knowledge. We highly recommend this hotel and will defiantly return to this place on our next trip to Ecuador.

“Great location.”

Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. We asked them to help locate taxis and to find directions. Breakfast was good with a good view. Really if you want to be in the historical part of town this hotel is great.

My fourth visit to Quito, yet the first stay in Old Town. HRA is nicely located within a 10-15 minute walk to either the Plaza de San Francisco or Presidential Palace. My fourth visit to Quito, yet the first stay in Old Town. HRA is nicely located within a 10-15 minute walk to either the Plaza de San Francisco or Presidential Palace. This section of Quito is beautiful at night. One will find a fine view of Santo Domingo Plaza from the hotel’s restaurant on top floor. In the absence of an elevator, guests staying on the upper floors (due to the city’s elevation) might need to catch their breath before reaching their rooms. The building, located at a corner, will have its quietest rooms on the sides of the hallway away from the street, yet neighborhood car alarms will likely be heard no matter where one’s room is located.

Stayed 2 nights in this hotel across the road from Santa Domingo Church and convent in old Quito. Unfortunately hotel is noisy if you have a room facing Quayquil Avenue traffic starts at 5:00 Am locals often use excessive horn blowing and can be noisy. Stayed 2 nights in this hotel across the road from Santa Domingo Church and convent in old Quito. Unfortunately hotel is noisy if you have a room facing Quayquil Avenue traffic starts at 5:00 Am locals often use excessive horn blowing and can be noisy. Hotel room is ok a B AND LOCAL RESTAURANT IN HOTEL IS OK BUT room and bed is 3 times the price of similar so called hostals near by withing blocks that equally have private baths and showers. I originally book through Air Canada that just started a direct flight from Toronto. You can easily book on a travel site like Trivago or Hotel dot com cheaper and similar rooms nearby. Taxi ride from airport to or from Quito Airport is $20 US. It takes 45 minutes and is a longer ride at peak periods. Early morning flights are a bit easier for traffic. Quito has a huge population and is spread out with millions and while there are 4 and 8 lane highways traffic can be equally busy. Many restaurants near the hotel have $3.00 US meals for lunches etc, those restaurants that give the same meal and do not list prices at the door are 300% more for basically the same meal. Shop and buy from restaurants that look good inside and have prices listed and pictures of the plate to be expected. TV only in Spanish If you wish to take buses South or west to Quayquil City of Pacific beaches take the C4 bus on the Santa Dominto square on terminal directly in front of the square on Quayquil Street. You will have approximately 12 stops to the south Inter Province Bus terminal which is the last stop. Bus cost is 25 cents US coin per person. Cheap Interprovincial bus trip from Quito to Quayquil is about 7 hours. Take it in the morning get to Quayquil in daylight. Quayquil bus terminal is at the Airport in Quayquil. Take a $5 dollar US bus to city center ask taxi driver for hotel location if you do not have a reservation. Quayquil river prominade is nice at night.
