We stayed as a group at this hotel and found it to be a great stay. It has a real homely feel. The staff were incredibly helpful and made us all feel very welcome. Special thanks must go to Mariann for all her help before and during our stay and always having a smile no matter how busy it got. Nothing was too much trouble. Also a shout out to Thomas who is also a credit to the hotel chain and was super helpful. The rooms are varied in layout and have an older style feel to them but are clean and comfortable . We found the breakfast to be very good. Hot and cold options including cereals, fruits, eggs, sausages and a few cheese choices and of course pastries. Cant fault the location either right near the main pedestrian areas and near to the station. There is a church five to ten minutes away that chimes after 8am but its not hugely loud and if you are light sleeper worth taking some ear plugs in case. I think for the value and the warmth of the staff you would be hard pushed to find a better option.

“Great location with comfortable rooms.”

We spent one high at Milling Hotel, travelling to Germany with our Pug dog. We were well received upon arrival, parking was convenient and affordable at 90 Dkr, and however, the parking charge was not expected or advertised when booking. We spent one high at Milling Hotel, travelling to Germany with our Pug dog. We were well received upon arrival, parking was convenient and affordable at 90 Dkr, and however, the parking charge was not expected or advertised when booking. The room was very clean and comfortable, small yet workable. The breakfast was offered at an additional charge, the cost was reasonable and the breakfast provided had a great selection of hot and cold options. Good location within the town of Aalborg, with great places to walk your dog or do some shopping. The hotel staff were very friendlt and helpful, we had an excellent stay at Milling.

There is something warm about the feel of this hotel when you walk in. Perhaps it is because of the friendly welcome we got. Regardless, it just feels "homey" - something a fancy 5 star hotel can never accomplish. I liked this hotel. It was clean, the beds and pillows were comfortable, it was easy to drive to and park at, and was at a central location. The rooms have hair dryers and a bathtub if you ask for one. I did not think it was noisy. We were on the 3rd floor. The breakfast ends a little early - 9.30, and the one elevator is a dinosaur, otherwise, there is not much to complain about. I wouldn't consider another hotel in Aalborg if this one was available!

“Worn and simple but clean. Friendly staff.”

The rooms are worn and need renovation. There were street work outside which made it difficult to get to the hotel. (There is a parking lot called Gåsepigen which can be used.) That said, the staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and, except for the noicy seagulls, very quiet. Breakfast was ok, could have a wider selection of toppings.

I had a mostly pleasant stay at Milling Hotel Gestus, and I will get to the highlights. But first off, a criticism: - Terrible WiFi. The WiFi is inconsistent, frequently stalls and drops, and when it is functioning, it is fairly slow. Again: Terrible WiFi. It's the 21st century and this is Denmark - Fix The WiFi! Whew. That said, Milling Hotel Gestus is very nicely situated in central Aalborg, near the train station, waterfront and shopping district. Aalborg is a very nice town, very walkable. The staff was very pleasant. The breakfast options are fairly standard, but abundant and well prepared. I was fortunate to have a fifth floor room facing away from the street - very quiet and offering lovely views of the city. Please keep in mind that this is an older property. The bathrooms are tiny - as in "very little room to maneuver." Also, the furnishing are dated. The hallway carpets are stained, threadbare and need to be replaced.
