The Kong Arthur is located in a quiet neighborhood nearby nórreport. Reservation and Check-In worked like a charm, even the key was our iPhone. The superior double room was of sufficient size, the bathroom needs some renovation because of the shower curtain and some odor. We enjoyed the overall atmosphere with the cozy hour in the afternoon and the rich breakfast options. Lots of relax zones to sit and chill and the silence at night is a real thumbs. We loved it there…..

“Exceptional.”

Everyone was extremely friendly and went out of their way to help this first-time visitor to Denmark. I was able to stow my luggage before checking in. The hotel itself is gorgeous and luxurious in its Scandinavian simplicity. The "cozy hour" was a nice touch.

“Relaxing, friendly, with some room for improvement”

Stayed for a week when on holiday in lovely Copenhagen. Stayed for a week when on holiday in lovely Copenhagen. Immediately got a good welcome and the bar/lobby area is relaxed and friendly, especially during 'cosy hour' from 5-6pm each day when a glass of beer, wine or apple juice is available for free. Many choose to join the sociable crowd at this time and it creates a pleasant buzz in the hotel. Hotel is located in a quiet dead-end street just off a main artery next to the inner-city lakes, which are a popular walking and running circuit. Most main tourist sights are only 10-30mins walk away, or less by bike. Plenty of good restaurants plus the food market really close at hand. Great location. Rooms are clean and functional and bed is comfortable; however, there is little storage space - some shelves or drawers plus a few more hangers would help. It feels more like it's set up for overnight business trips than longer leisure stays. The bathroom was huge, and although the shower could be a bit more powerful, it was still very roomy with a massive overhead drench head. Excellent. On the downside, the room remained very warm even in a period of cloudy, mixed weather at around 15 degrees outside and with the windows open. Yes, there is a fan you can use, but that's just going to move the air not cool it. There's no aircon and no need for it - the problem could be solved by insulation within the building. It seems that some sort of constantly hot pipe ran under our bathroom floor, keeping the tiles very warm, so even opening the window to the cool outside air had little effect. Nice in the depths of winter I'm sure, but otherwise not so welcome. With the building itself generating so much heat, I can't imagine how you're going to get the room down to sleeping temperature once the mercury rises above 20 degrees. Breakfast is superb with a huge choice from the buffet, lots of local flavour (herring, waffles, chestnut spread, rye bread, standard filter coffee plus a daily special brew from a fruitier roast of beans...). Highly recommended - fill your boots. Gym is small but adequate and little-used, so I was able to get a couple of decent workouts done as well as heading out for a run around the lakes, right outside the front door. Between this and active travel (see below), you're in with a good chance of working off the pastries and other delicacies. Bike hire is available from the hotel but I suggest you avoid this - there's a hefty daily fee in the event of theft, which is (perhaps surprisingly in a city where everyone has a bike anyway) a real risk which stung me painfully. Better to use one of the hire schemes (e.g. Donkey Republic) for point-to-point journeys as the whereabouts of the bike isn't then your problem once your backside is off the saddle and you've ended your hire for that trip. That aside, cycling in Copenhagen is a joy and a model for the rest of the planet - definitely do it! Overall I'd recommend this hotel very highly for most types of trip and traveller. Perhaps look elsewhere if you want to bring a large trunk full of clothes or it's midsummer and you struggle to sleep in the heat, but those are minority use cases and I expect most will be happy with a friendly welcome, clean premises, excellent breakfast and great location.

It is a quirk of the Danish Hotel star rating that, unlike in Sweden, a 4-star hotel does not have to have a restaurant. It is a quirk of the Danish Hotel star rating that, unlike in Sweden, a 4-star hotel does not have to have a restaurant. So we made a big mistake booking this place as it is not close to many restaurants (although La Rocca nearby is good). They offer a free drink between 5pm and 6pm which attracts a lot of people into the bar. You cannot get an orange juice or a croissant for breakfast as they are not 'Danish organic' which is really annoying.
