After a very long day of traveling, we arrived at the Copenhagen Marriott and were upgraded to the newly renovated executive floor with a water view room, which was very nice and spacious. The bed was very comfortable. The furniture was newly upgraded and comfortable in front of a very large picture window looking onto the water. The bathroom had plenty of space with a very nice shower. The breakfast buffet was very nice with anything you could ask for: eggs, meats, muffins, croissants, fruits, and vegetables, lots of beverages and more. There are great walking areas all along the waterfront, across the bridges and back to the hotel if you are a walker or a runner. There’s also a nice restaurant in the hotel where we ate one night after a long day of sightseeing in addition to a lobby bar with plenty of seating as well as a large outdoor deck overlooking the water.

The Copenhagen Marriott sits on a prime location. The spacious lobby with nearby bar is quite the scene at night, and the view out into the canal is wonderful. The boardwalk allows one to easily walk down and jump into the water with the locals. The breakfast buffet didn't disappoint with fresh fruit, jams, bread, cheeses, made to order omelets, etc. However, there were some disappointing items which is concerning as it shows lack of attention to detail. - Our room shower/tub was draining so slow that I found myself standing in 3 in (7 cm) of water while showering - The threshold between the room and the bathroom sticks out, which not only is a trip hazard, but everyone in my family injured their toes - The fitness center steam room was not functioning, but no sign to indicate it was out of order - A baseboard in the men's locker room had come off, lying nearby - The locker keys were difficult to keep in possession, especially when using the sauna/steam room/showers. An elastic wristband would be best. We alerted the staff to these deficiencies, but as a Bonvoy member, Marriott shareholder, I felt let down that I had to report these issues.

“Disappointed”

The hotel has a nice view and is conveniently located. This is the third year that I've stayed in the hotel as part of a business trip because of the location. This is not a 5 star hotel. Many of the rooms have not been renovated and there is little room service or attention to detail from the hotel staff. I read in other reviews that many guests have received complimentary upgrades to renovated rooms on the executive floors but that has not been the case for me on any visit to this hotel (6 in total). On the last trip through after attending a meeting outside of the city, my family and I received a mediocre room and discovered that the toilet was not flushing properly. Late at night, we had to go down to the front desk and ask to be moved. The gentleman at the front desk was courteous but told us that the hotel was all pre-booked. He went in the back for a while to talk with the manager (who never appeared) and booked us in a room on the same floor. There was room service tray with spoiling food outside of the door of the room next to us and it was still there over 24 hours later. Not attractive. The following day, several large tour buses arrived and I was unable to get back to my room in time for a remote work meeting because of a long line at the elevators. One elevator was broken. On our last morning, we finally made it onto an elevator to go to breakfast in the restaurant. We waited patiently at the check-in to give our room number and to be seated. At some point during breakfast, I left for a few minutes to go to the toilets which are located outside in the hallway. When I came back, the hostess at the front desk would not let me return to my table. She demanded my room number and wanted to check a list before letting me go back in. I was humiliated and embarrassed to say the least. She made me feel like a criminal for going back to my table. By the way, we had already paid over $75 for breakfast for three people. I went to the reception to share my experience and did not receive an apology for how I had been treated. I was told that it is policy to interrogate all visitors so that they don't steal the breakfast. How awful that a customer is not trusted. This hotel staff is not focused on customer needs - just filling up rooms with large groups. Be aware that the hotel staff is not interested in "customer first" if you choose this hotel.
