Hotel Oldinn is located right at the centre of the old town. Since it is at the town square, it is very convenience. However, there is restricted access to the old town. That means you are not allowed to drive into the old town. In fact, they only allow vehicles from local residents. Otherwise, you need to carry your luggage from outside the old town to the town centre. While it is only a few minutes' walk, the roads are paved with cobblestone. You either have to carry your luggage or run the risk of damaging the wheels of your luggage. The hotel has a shuttle bus, but it will cost you an arm and a leg. Otherwise, the hotel is very nice. The breakfast is also very good. The room we stayed in virtually did not have any view (the windows are facing the wall of a building), but we didn't spent our time looking out the windows.

Warning: By default and without asking, the front desk will charge you in Euros rather than the local currency. To avoid this unfavorable exchange rate, I asked that the credit card transaction be reversed and that I be charged in local currency. The representative refused and said he couldn't undo the transaction. Of course I know this is not true, but the representative could not be persuaded otherwise.

This hotel is a bit hit and miss. Very pretty location and comfortable rooms. But because our room faced the street / town square, we heard noise all night. In addition, the town’s steeple chimes every half hour or so, which made it hard to sleep. Finally, the included breakfast buffet was pretty average. TBH, I expected a finer experience for a hotel that bills itself as luxury.

We were expecting something spectacular in service and facilities paying Euro$724.00 for a deluxe room (including breakfast) for one night. At check-in we had a room upgrade, but from our point of view, there is no relation cost-benefit. The hotel it’s just ok, clean, well located, fortunately lacks a medieval décor, good internet service, soft towels, silent AC. For dinner, in site restaurant is totally avoidable, a simple hamburger and chicken sandwich were served cold, waiters did not attend our petitions and dinner was rushed. Buffet breakfast has some local dishes that makes to forget the not so good experience at night. Part of the lack of service is the hotel never response to emails and there´s no one willing to assist at train station upon day of arrival. For the price paid it deserves a two stars rating, but Lucía at front desk was so kind and helpful, made our stay less uncomfortable, muchas gracias! Hotel recommendable? No, there´s no good cost-benefit. Will return next time in town? No.
