We stayed here for two nights as part of an REI Adventures hiking trip. The location was excellent being a short walk from old town and only 15 minutes walk to the castle. Our room was large and comfortable. However the room had a number of anomalies that others might find off-putting: --there are a number of tripping hazards, steps down from the entry door and steps up to the bathroom --There are decorative arches within the room that add to the ambiance but create opportunities to bash your head if you aren't careful --the toilet sits unusually low and the entry to the bathtub is unusually high --there is no shower curtain in the bathtub --no hot water early in the day; they seem to turn off the hot water heater overnight and at 6:30 the water is only tepid. It recovers a few hours later and was fine in the evening. Breakfast was passable but far less satisfying compared to the other places we stayed on our trip. Our ground floor room had two windows with screens and no a/c. It was comfortable on a 75 degree day. Others in our group had rooms up in the attic that only had two small windows but they had a/c. None of our rooms had views of the river. It might we worth asking if they offer rooms with a view as the hotel is directly across the river from the church. By being very careful we avoided injury and enjoyed our stay.

Nothing memorable, with choices like: scramble eggs, mini sausages, hard boiled eggs, fried eggs, bacon, 2 types of yogurt, muesli and dry fruits/cereals, some veggies ... more

Pros: - The location was excellent being a short walk from old town and only 15 minutes walk to the castle. - Breakfast was ok. Nothing memorable, with choices like: scramble eggs, mini sausages, hard boiled eggs, fried eggs, bacon, 2 types of yogurt, muesli and dry fruits/cereals, some veggies and various types of bread. I never tried the coffee from the machine so I can't comment on this. Available juices and different types of tea. - We had half-board and I must admit their strongest points are the starters and desserts... main dishes, not so much. - Nice view to the river and church - Modern TV with connection to Youtube and Netflix - The WiFi worked perfectly fine - Staff from reception to the dinning room were very polite and accommodating - Private parking - The receptionist lady was wearing protective face mask. Cons: - Our room 209 -at the highest floor- is for sure not 4 stars. - The furniture looks extremely outdated (We felt we were staying in an castle, but this is not a compliment)....So it doesn't just look old, these are old! - The wardrobe had a weird smell. - There is no shower curtain in the bathtub, so if you are not careful it will soon be flooded. - No kettle inside the room - No safe box inside the room - I do not like having a carpet in our room since it's highly susceptible to allergens such as mold, dust mites and other bacterias (We were always using our flipflops) - The pillows were very very soft - The bed/mattress was squeaky - You have to pay for the drinks in the evening (Even if you paid a half-board option) - The rooms 209 was a little bit noisy, you can hear the teenagers in the park behind the hotel and the rings of the bell EVERY 15 MINUTES :( - The waitresses in the breakfast/dinning room were not using any face mask (I believe they don't now that we are in the middle of a pandemic?) Very careless behavior!

“Top floor room not worthed the money”

We didnt get the renovated room. Rooms at the highest floor are for sure not 4 stars. Staff was fed up, not willing to help. Breakfast was dissapointing, eggs were really old (watch the picture). Double bed was two separated bed, bath towels were full of dots.
