A lovely hotel in a great central position that incorporates the grandeur of the past with a modern twist. The hotel's dining room and lounge are superb examples of this with their beautiful chandeliers and elegant ceilings. The best breakfast I have had is served here with endless options whether hot or cold. The choice is enormous including the prosecco !! Staff were professional, helpful and charming. Rooms were large and comfortable with all essentials and the beds ensured a good night's sleep. Bathroom area, especially the shower, and toiletries are very good. The modern outside seating area with its ice cream parlour, patisserie and waiter service was an excellent addition and a lovely location to unwind at the end of the day and watch the world (or more precise watch Opatija) go by. Thoroughly recommend.

“Amazing”

Amazing! We loved everything. Stuff are so polite and kind. Rooms are spacious and clean. Food is great. We love it! Location is the best. Overall we will back again definitely. After Heritage we stay at Valamar and we felt so disappointed because we had best service in Heritage ever

We were impressed by the architecture of this grand 19th century hotel in the heart of Opatija. There is a great feeling of space throughout. Our room was located at the side, quiet, with a view over the hills behind the town and a partial sea view. It was large, well furnished in a contemporary style, with very good beds. The bathroom was fine too, with large shower and twin hand basins. Breakfast, served in the elegant former ballroom (I think), was exceptional. A wide range of tasty food, well presented. Full marks! Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful throughout. The hotel lacks a garden and pool but has a pleasant cafe/bar terrace

The rooms are dated with limited light and plugs, the king bed is 2 single beds put together. We were sitting on patio after having a couple of beer we needed something to eat and even though they have a menu there is no food. We left to eat and then came back to sit and have a game of cards. The rooms are dated with limited light and plugs, the king bed is 2 single beds put together. We were sitting on patio after having a couple of beer we needed something to eat and even though they have a menu there is no food. We left to eat and then came back to sit and have a game of cards. At that time we didn’t want anything to drink and were told we had to leave enough it is part of the hotel and the patio was empty. Later the cafe manager Tin came to apologize but the damage had been done by his staff. There is no where to relax in this hotel except your room. We went to the spa and the tubs were lukewarm warm with no railing to get in or out. It’s amazing how one person can make your stay questionable!
