“Wonderful Resort Experience”

Absolutely beautiful property, great staff, wonderful facilities. Entertainment is a plus. Sports center is great. They were even accommodating when it came to heating up some special meals that we brought with us as we keep a kosher diet. Have just a couple of complaints— 1. Spa is open to hotel guests to use which is amazing- they did not tell us this at check in. This is not typical in the states and since they shared so much random info at check-in, including this as well would be helpful. Also, the hot tub in the spa was doing some sort of cycle all day Saturday where it was not hot and supposedly they do this every Weds and sat. Was a bummer. 2. Curtains in the deluxe room — cannot speak for others— were not blackout and it was very bright from about 5am. Bring a sleep mask. 3. Pillows were horrible. We didn’t ask for new ones so that’s on us. 4. Pools are all cold. I would highly recommend this hotel if you want more of a resort experience in Dubrovnik out of the city. The property is huge, there is so much to do, and we were so glad to have spent 3 nights there out of the hustle of Old Town.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Sun Gardens in Dubrovnik, Croatia and I must say, it was an good experience on the whole. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with warm and friendly staff who made me feel right at home. The hotel itself is stunning, with beautiful architecture and breathtaking views of the Adriatic Sea. The rooms were normal size, clean, and tastefully decorated, providing a comfortable bed and luxurious stay. The attention to detail was very good, with all most one could ask for. I woud note that although I booked a twin room, one was not available on arrival and so my nephew was forced to sleep on a portable bed in the same room for the whole stay. Something to consider if you are not a couple or do not want to share a double bed and you are paying this kind of money I think that is poor and the main reason I am knocking off a star. Also the rooms have a glass wall between the bedroom and the bathroom! There is a blind but it does not offer complete privacy. Another small niggle is that the pillows on the beds are absolutely gutless and you need about five of them to make up a normal pillow. One of the highlights of my stay was the exceptional service provided by the hotel staff. They were always attentive, going above and beyond to ensure that all my needs were met. Whether it was arranging transportation, recommending local attractions, or simply providing a friendly smile, the staff at Sun Gardens truly made me feel like a valued guest. The hotel also boasts a wide range of facilities and activities to suit every guest's interests. From the relaxing spa and wellness center to the numerous dining options offering delicious cuisine, there was never a dull moment during my stay. The breakfast buffet is very generous with a huge selection of food. The on-site restaurants are very well presented but are quite expensive. I did not try all of them though. The on-site ice cream café is a particular highlight. If you do not want to eat on site, there are a number of great restaurants very close by that serve delicious local food with great views of the bay. The outdoor pools and private beach access were an added bonus, allowing me to soak up the sun and unwind in a beautiful setting and I was always able to get a sunbed without much difficulty. Most of the time was spent near the ocean, which is absolutely stunning and beautifully warm and clear to swim in. The sports centre is another highlight with a huge Gym containing lots of equipment. There is also squash court and tennis courts plus a pool table and bar. There are even PlayStation five consoles for the kids. Tennis is quite expensive for €18 however even if you bring your own rackets. There is a reasonably well Stocked on site supermarket which has the basic essentials for your needs and the staff are very friendly. Located in Dubrovnik, the Sun Gardens provided the perfect base for exploring the rich history and culture of the city. The hotel's convenient location allowed for easy access to the Old Town, a UNESCO World Heritage site, as well as other nearby attractions. another point to note is that unless you have a higher car you will be using Uber a fair bit to get about as anything nearby requires a taxi journey to reach unless you want to be walking along the roads with no pavements! Overall, my stay at the Sun Gardens in Dubrovnik was nothing short of memorable. The combination of stunning surroundings, top-notch service, and luxurious amenities made for an unforgettable experience. I recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a truly memorable stay in Croatia. If they could just address a few minor niggle, then it would truly be five star.
