Yes I admit that the hotel is well in need of a face lift but for the money my stay here was absolutely brilliant. Some hotels say they are on the beach but are in fact 100's of metres away however not so here. The Podgorka is literally 5 metres from the nearest part of the beach!! We arrived really late due to a combination of a delayed flight and then our transfers were even later. After booking in the guy on reception then handed us a meal which the kitchen had put aside for us which just goes to show how good the staff are. The views from our room were ok to brilliant depending the direction you looked and we had a balcony/room. Yes it was out of the nineties with no air con but we were able to hire a fridge for 40 Kuna a day that meant we could have cold drinks when we wanted. Breakfasts were ok, standard Hot and Continental style but with salad, a little repetitive but the evening meals were ok to great and the menu changed daily with 3 mains options usually pork or beef, chicken and fish. All food was self service so really worth the money. But the evening meals don't come with free drinks although breakfasts do. View from the canteen balcony was stunning. The lifts are unusual as you have an outside hinged door but the car door is a standard sliding one. All in all really loved our stay.

I stayed in this hotel in June 2019 for a week. It was pretty full for a first half of June. Hotel is literally 10 meters from a beach. Personel are pretty friendly but most of them don't speak english at all. Furniture is like from 80s in communistic style of former Yugoslavia. Bathroom is pretty communistic too but not from the 80s but the 90s, no ventilation or window. Rooms have no fridges, no climatization, no ventilators. The restaurant has very good food and there is a lot to choose from. Wi-Fi in this hotel is pretty much a nightmare. It only works properly down in the reception. Pros: +Restaurant +Price +10 meters from a beach Cons: - Furniture - Bathroom - No fridge, climatization, ventilation - Poor wi-fi I would only advise Hotel Podgorka to people who don't want to spend much time inside and are more about the night life in Podgora which is very nice or about the beach and sea. Overall rating 3 out of 5.
