Great location. Close to the beach. Variety of food. Only drawback double room at the hotel had 2 single beds connected together. No double mattress and bed not appropriate for couples-despite mattress overlay this made no difference and was uncomfortable. Could not cuddle my partner as kept dipping between the two single mattresses. Double room should be described as either-double room with single beds or double room with a double mattresss. Overall great place to stay

We had a great stay at Hotel Albatros Cavtat, early October we booked a superior double full sea view room and wow what a beautiful view of the pool & bay (exactly as the jet 2 advertisement photo) the hotel is very clean, the staff work extremely hard, bed linen changed during our 1 week stay, beds made everyday and towels changed daily. We stayed all inclusive (yes drinks are limited, but ample for our needs) food was absolutely fine, plenty of choice each day. Entertainment was low key, live music, karaoke, quiz, music bingo all enjoyable. This is a lovely hotel, large pool and a great children’s pool, yes a bit on the cool side, but most pools are not heated. We found Cavtat a safe area, lovely short flat walk into the village with a picturesque coastline Croatia is absolutely beautiful. Water taxi to Dubrovnik old town and Mlini are worth a visit (reasonably priced) you can also get the bus from Cavtat (it’s cheaper by bus) Transfer less than 10 mins, watching the planes come over was not a problem. ** we were apprehensive about the negative reviews but personally we would say don’t believe everything you read ** we would book again it is great value for money

Really enjoyed our stay at the Albatross and would highly recommend. Despite the Albatross clearly being built in late 60’s style, the rooms were very comfortable and modern and the public areas fine. The outdoor space was pleasant even if the pool in late October was icy cold. Lots has been said about the food which we thought was lovely, lots of local dishes, fresh salads and lovely deserts. I suspect many of the negative food reviews were made by folk who like sanitised beige Euro foods. If you like traditional cuts of meat such as Beef Tongue, Brisket and Pork Neck (the tastiest cuts which we do) done in Croatian style you’ll be fine with the food. My only slight criticism was that the lovely Cevapi was only on the menu once in the week, I could have eaten this classic and favourite Balkan dish of mine all week. The local beer was also a bit bland but drinkable. I could say the cocktails were fairly limited but this again a minor detail. Cavtat is a lovely place with fantastic walks and wonderful coastal views. A lovely stay made even better by the staff who were all so friendly and helpful, just sad that some of the other guests didn’t have the common decency or manners to acknowledge the hard work the staff put in.

I have a balanced view based on time of year , firstly, there needs to be a clear message when booking the last week of season before closing, there’s nothing going on , no animation team , nothing around the pool , no sports , no music and very little evening entertainment a singer for 2 nights but still advertising a quiz and karaoke BUT on the plus side if you were in season all would be different especially with kids , food is fine, beer ok , spirits ok but soft drinks flat , the location is a massive plus it’s beautiful views and Cavtat has bundles is charm , beach is pebbled but ok and the sea is crystal, take a water taxi to Dubrovnik it’s stunning overall for 4 adults a very chilled relaxing week

We are just leaving Cavtat. It's end of season and very quiet. Weather was lovely. This hotel is 3star at very most. Bed linen quiet thread bare. Room are very small. Balcony was nice and good pool complex. All pools very cold. We had Breakfast included. Buffett style. Canteen level at best. We went for dinner on one night. 30 euro. Very basic although beer and wine in tap included. Preferred to eat out. Centre of cavtat a 15 min walk along a well lit narrow road. Traffic was quiet. Coming earlier in Oct or late Sept would be better for more atmosphere. Some cafes and bars already closed up. Cavtat is a nice village but 5 days is plenty. Variety of food in restaurants quite samey but anything we got was lovely. Airport very quiet. Only one coffee shop open. No food available. We enjoyed our stay but wouldn't come back this late in season. End of Oct everything closes.
