I went there on a business trip at the beginning of the month. I was lucky enough to score a room with a view of the river esplanade and the skyline of Shanghai. No matter what time of the day, the view was magnificent. To those who don't want to skip their workout routine there is a superb running track right by the river or two(!) gyms at the hotel to choose from, including sauna and swimming pool. My room was impeccable with lovely room service. In general the staff are very attentive. The breakfast buffet also offers more that one could ever eat with plenty of options ranging from traditional Chinese to excellent Bircher Musli and fresh pastry with endless options of cheese, charcuterie and spreads. Definintely a good choice no matter if you're in Shanghai for business or leisure. Shops, restaurants and metro station are also within walking distnance.

A returning business traveler to Pudong Shangri La. A good reception welcome by the staff and also Sean. Very personable greetings. Rooms were well kept and clean. Have to point out that management needs to advise their housekeeping staff that if a privacy sign is switched on; they shouldn’t keep on ringing the door bell to return my pair of shoes after the shoe shine service. This was around 9pm when instructions were given to return next day 7am outside the room. Club lounge food was improved from the last time I visited though I feel the selections remain limited vs other hotels I frequent. Tried both River Wing and Main Wing lobby lounges; prefer the former for its space and view. Service was nice and non intrusive when I drop by for evening food and drinks. The service at the latter lounge needs to be improved as I struggle to find staff for certain requests at 730am on the desk. Check out was very smooth. I hope more training could be given and improved to service staff at the lounge and housekeeping at the necessary touch points. Thank you.

This is one of the more expensive rooms in Shanghai. It smelled of mildew, cabinets didn't work correctly, the sink drain didn't work properly, many surfaces were stained, dry wall screws were exposed. The spa was a disaster. Mold growing in numerous places, the steam room smelled toxic, the showers had broken handles. This wouldn't pass a health and safety inspection in Europe.
